Sounds believable; not sure if the iPad thing is true.

From all the macbook pro rumours, there's no mention of a refresh; although I believe there's one.

Hoping for something surprising from Apple.

I'm quite happy that the MacBook Pro refresh won't change much of the design of the MacBook Pro...it'll make my 2010 model feel less outdated

Who knows though, I may get the 2012 model when it comes out, since the world will be ending and all...

This article confirms my suspicions related to the MBP. This would be my first Mac, but I think I'm going to have to sit back and wait until the 2012 MBP refresh, which should be on cycle for a complete redesign. It seems forever away but I'm willing to wait for a better product. This article does encourage me to look a little more seriously at the 13" Air, which should be getting a refresh by the fall. Just can't justify the new MacBook.

I know it can be difficult, but I would suggest going ahead and buying now. There will ALWAYS be something better coming out next year. There really is no better time to natch up a mbp than now. The haters ALWAYS complain about something. If the redesign occurs next year, you can bet people will be bitching about how they hate it, or that it wasn't updated enough. You might not even like the new design. If you really want to make the switch to Mac I say just go for it now. That will give you a whole extra year of time to love and enjoy a Mac!!! And I think that is totally worth it.

Worst case scenario you can sell your mbp next year for a $250 loss. That's really not a bad investment to rent a brand new mbp for a year.

These rumors are literally killing me. I am in the hospital on Apple life support. Now I might wait until next year for the MBP. I know, always waiting forever, blah blah. Everything rumored for this update seems good except the lack of quad-core. How much faster is the new 2.7Ghz Core i7 over the 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo from early 2008?

As for the iPad, not upgrading until Retina. Guess I'll start saving now.

Didn't they debunk that saying they were off by a hundred years?

Aww well,

looks like the 15" 17" liquid metal MBP purchase will have to wait till next year! A new MBA it is then! This supposed 13" MB (P) just doesnt cut the mustard when stacked up against a pimped out MBA and my thery is its a new MB not anything pro. That ll be reserved once again for the 15 and 17".
Hopefully the iMacs get refreshed soon too!:)

Huh? Who said anything about a minor update to the MBP? The rumoured specs for the 13" look beastly (with the known exception of video), and that just the 13".

All this rumour is talking about is a casing update next year, which I don't think anyone expected this round.

Actually tommorow is the time to bua a new MBP if you're in the market. It is a solidified design, major kinks have been worked out. If 2012 brings a major redesign - well - there you go with the infamous "Don't get a Rev. A machine from Apple" moniker. I wouldn't. Severely burnt myself with the Rev A CoreDuo Intel iMacs. Those were real POS machines.

i know it had been quiet on the apple news front for too long. I knew that it would all hit at once and probably go nonstop til the iphone 5 in june.

lets see.

MBP now
iPad 2 next week.
iMac shortly after that
iOS5 teaser after ipad 2 launch
iPhone 5 june.

Hold on to your hats going to be a bumpy ride. Already have the funds for iPad 2 and MBP set aside

I'm glad to hear iPhone 5 is still on for June, but it needs major work. Despite antenna-gate, I am still of the opinion reception and the phone component is the iPhone's weakest function.

Also 2 slabs of glass is not working out. The insurance claims are crazy.

Only 1 iPad this year. No way apple will release iPad in March and release another one this fall unless it's a different size or has different purposes.

Looks like I'll be waiting to upgrade my iPad. This upcoming announcement is shaping up to be a bore.

They already had an iPad with expanded capabilities in the works before release last year. It would make sense to put out a mostly pre-engineered iPad if they have the ability to release a killer advance right before the competition has their release later in the end of summer.

However, we'll see. These rumors aren't even marginally substantiated rumors these days. It's speculative blather by tech geeks. I'd rather read our comments than read the front page rumors.

I wonder if the redesign of the MacBook will be a tablet? About time. All notebooks should have gone tablet by now, as far as I'm concerned.

Okay, these rumors and the quantity of them is getting absolutely ridiculous now.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media is now running every Apple rumor they hear. Then the average Joe-Smoe believes it as fact.

Can someone explain to me the logic in announcing the iPad 2 and introducing a third-generation only 6 months later?

I don't understand how this makes it to news.

Wow. Just wow. This is the third comment so far saying that photo is fake. It's a mockup! It clearly says that under the photo. Read before posting. Did you even read ANYTHING before you commented? At no point does it even mention things such as "leaked photos" or "gizmodo did it again." Come on dude.

thank god I got the original iPad the mockups of the iPad 2 look shocking, it looks so ugly and crap.

If it actually turns out to be close enough to that as a design then bah the original iPad design is wayyyy cooler.
