The benchmarking is interesting, but I assume it's using the same test on both machines? What I'd like to see is how the new iPad's performance with a 2048x1536 buffer compares to the iPad 2's performance with a 1024x768 buffer. Everyone knows the the iPad has a faster GPU, the real test will be is it enough faster to make up for having to drive 4X as many pixels? I realize this will be someone dependent on the application, for example I imagine 3D OpenGL games will have a different profile than iPhoto or whatever.

I'm actually a bit disapointed, it is true that the new display is amazing and the improvement of the camera is noteworthy but the number one reason I got rid of my ipad 2 was due to its weight and the new ipad is actually heavier. I'll wait until the smaller ipad comes out.
Does anyone know how the new iPad will handle older iPad apps?
Meaning are they gonna be blown up to to size or will they be a smaller box in the middle of the screen like when you use an iPhone app on the iPad?
Or does everything that's not updated just look like ass mold?
Just curious if that's been discussed. Either way, my new iPad arrives Friday![]()
Perhaps you need to go to the gym?![]()
You cannt be serious! LOL
So happy that Friday is almost here!![]()

Time to hit the gym.
Yes I can, maybe you guys will know understand if you already had half of your veins ripped our of arms like I did.
We each have different needs and preferences, get over it. Apple makes great products, but like any other companies, not all products can appeal to everyone, including me.
I'd like to see a tablet with that Senseg texture technology. A lot of people - mainly a blind person - would be benefited. I imagine an app which could record surrounding images and textures and then transmit that to the screen. So a blind person (or even a non-blind one in a night situation) could see through the tact. Braille support also would be a piece of cake to implement. Websites would simply jump out of the screen. I think this is true innovation.
you have two retinas, one in each eye![]()
i'm getting mine on the 16th according to tracking. my only complaint, and certainly not a deal breaker, is storage capacity. with the increased size in apps the iPad 3 will hold less. i wish i could add a memory card or they bumped it to 128gb. but i'll live. i just hate when i remove something then re-add it i lose data. especially in games.
I really wish they had done a comparison of the Mobile Internet load times comparing the 3G iPad vs. the 4G on the new iPad. I imagine that if you are in good range of a 4G LTE tower, the internet speeds on this new iPad should be incredible....this is really faster than a cable modem? I have a hard time believing that the iPad will be able to load data at over 2 megabytes per second but that would be incredible.
As it is, the 3G on my original iPad (2009 model) is pretty slow, so that is why I was wondering how the speed is on the new 4G LTE modem on the new iPad.

In that video, you can clearly see the difference, I took a screenshot from the video and uploaded it for you to see. Look at the "Messages" icon....the quality on the Retina display really does show:

assuming you have 2 eyes.
the new ipad and ipad 2 look nearly identical in the video. people wont know i have new ipad, so it's pointless upgrading
