I've never understood why people love the units sold/units shipped/marketshare etc. It's a phone, just buy what suits your needs.

I don't walk around Tesco saying "I'm not going to buy that butter because this butter sells more then that one"

This is what Samsung fans do.....This is part of their ammo when they argue why Samsung is better.

It's also what Apple fans do, as highlighted in the last few pages of this thread. It's very sad on both sides.

I think the 10 million is cumulative note sales not quarterly.

I believe the note 8 sold between 10-15 million units cumulatively and if s 9 sales can be used as to gauge demand. Note 9 will be luck to ship half that.

Yes, it is actually accumulated shipped, not sold. Samsung does not break out phones sold since it is not a profitable division.

I can't draw. Got no artistic ability what so ever. Wish I had but that's life.
This is great news for those who love to draw, paint or doodle and prefer the Apple eco-system.

Having said that I remember saying a few years ago that I couldn't see myself using an Apple Watch.
Bought a 2nd hand one a year after launch to do app testing on and haven't taken it off (except at night to charge) since.

It’s defiantly sell-in vs sell through, judging from Samsung asps doesn’t look like they are even selling them for full retail probably at a steep discount or even below cost.

If you look at their financials their marketing budget is 3-4x googles pixel and hardwares annual revenue.

Samsung Notes are just ripoffs of the Apple Newton anyways but Androiders are gonna hate.
I still think styluses on phones are a waste, I had several Windows Phones, and am still finding styluses all over the place since they used to fall out all the time or get misplaced.

Can you beam me that fax from your outbox to my inbox please?

Yaach. I agree. Ya have to find 'em, put 'em away, and then you lose 'em. No thanks. I don't want something else in my pocket.

If I still had my Newton MessagePad or Emate I could, lol
I ended up replacing my Newtons with a series of WinMO PDAs, I can probably dig one out of a draw if they turn on and fax away.

Neither is better, they're just different.
One is extremely profitable, one barely makes any profits, if not actually loses money.

Nah, they will be fine. Nobody jumps that easily between the phone ecosystems anymore -- the investments have become too high, the learning curves too steep.

Classic mistake. A steep learning curve means it is easy to learn. People always get this the wrong way round.

BS. I've had several Galaxy Notes after upgrading from a tiny iPhone 4S and never once had it fall out. Maybe if you threw the phone on the ground then it might pop out.
Using one anecdote to disprove another.
Very circular.
It's not difficult to comprehend. 1960 Etch a Sketch stylus was on the back side of the display then it evolved to the dumb stylus on front of display with Apple Newton in 1993 to the Galaxy Note precision Wacom pen in 2011.
So what you're really saying is the Etch a Sketch was the first phablet and Samsung copied them.:D
