If they don't update fast enough, people get pissed. If they update faster, people get pissed because their toy isn't the newest anymore. People will never be happy. Technology moves on, people...

6 months or over, yes, it's fine, but some people here had theirs for 2-5 weeks.

Now you know why they didnt give the "ipad 3" a version number, so they could update it without increasing a number!

I know what you mean!! Just tried turning on my iPad 3 and it now DOESN'T WORK.

OMG.

It's not a big deal, your (and my) iPad 3's will work fine for another couple years I'm guessing. They probably just wanted to move the product release to the fall, and had the choice of either today, or in another 12 months time. Believe me I bet more people would be pissed if they bought the 3rd gen iPad next August then they released a 4th gen with probably an A7 (or equivalent) absolutely demolishing the A5X.

+1

personally, i felt that the ipad3 was rushed to market (which is partly why i still have the 2) but to all the moaners & groaners: hey, if you really need to have the ipad4 extras then sell the 3 and get the 4. otherwise, shut up.

Apple has traditionally stuck to 12 month cycles. Hell with the iPhone 4 they made that a 15 month cycle. Instead they cut the lifetime of the iPad 3 down to 6-7 months. Maybe if you spent $500-850 on the iPad 3 then you would have been pissed too.

No, actually I wouldn't. Yes, they've stuck to 12-month update cycles in the apst, but that's never a guarantee. You still have a device that's perfectly functional. Nothing has changed, except that you can't brag that it's the newest one anymore. And Apple is being greedy? Hmmm...

Add me in this crap. I'm not pissed, but am disappointed. I'll probably skip to the 5 next year

The 4 is like a 3S

So my iPad 3 that I purchased 4 months ago has already been super-seeded by the iPad 4.

Can't believe how pissed of I am that the update has come so quickly. I feel like selling my iPad and telling them to stick it up their arses!!

The faster processor and better front camera is ideal for the iPad 3 retina display. This is what the iPad 3 should of been!

4 months ?? I bought 4 days before imagine how seriously pissed off would I be feeling ??

What a bunch of whiners in here! and yes I bought the iPad 3 when it first came out.

do it and don't come back! chances are...you will sell it and try another product and have to have the 4. you will be back!

I purchased an iPad 3 for gaming and reading. I love the Retina display but it's really lagging in performance. For example, wild blood sutters every few seconds on the iPad 3. This isn't an incremental upgrade, it's a huge upgrade. They should have delayed the iPad 3 until now instead of milk money out of customers then replace it so early.

GET OVER IT!

Apple has in no way affected you, except MENTALLY:p

What a bunch of whiners in here!

Not whining, I just watched the media event and I thought Apple was releasing just the iPad Mini. Now, as I read this thread, I'm getting the impression that Apple is also releasing the iPad 4.

Someone clear things up please?!?

Welcome to the world of android. Where your device you bought 4 months ago is already replaced with something even better.

Thing is, different companies try to out do each other with their android devices. Apple one upped themselves and screwed over their loyal customers.

Yes, there's a new gen iPad.

Why would anyone be pissed about progress? If you are, then gadgets are probably not things you should buy.

The iPad 4 is cool. It isn't cool enough to get me to upgrade. Maybe next time. No big deal.

I imagine im going to the use the mini much more than the regular ipad. I am sticking with my 3 and take the mini with me everywhere. I love the resolution on the ipad 3 but if thats the only thing im missing out on for the most part, then im ok with it.

The ipad 3 is most likely going to be sitting on the charger for days/weeks at a time.

I don't care about the new processor.

I don't care about the new camera.

I JUST WANT THE LTE TO WORK IN MY COUNTRY.

This doesn't make anyone's iPad 3 obsolete. People are still on iPhone 4 and perfectly happy. Your iPad 3 is fine as long as it does everything you do with it on a day to day basis. That is all that really matters anyway.

wait, technology moving at a rapid pace and improving quickly and becoming obsolete meer months after its introduced? I just can't believe my eyes and ears. I am shocked!!!:eek:
