no crap but that doesn't fix the issue.

Picture buying a brand new Mercedes but the car wont work properly unless you cover the body with a car cover the whole time, Now it just looks like every other car.

Isn't one of the many reasons in buying the iPhone 4 because of how nice it looks, now we have to cover it up though in order to use it if you do not have excellent service everywhere I drive to

Quit your bitching. It's how the phone is, so either live with it or go get another damn phone. Millions of us use this phone just fine, and just because it's your spoiled ass you think Apple should spin it's orbit around you? You sound like a 12 year old.

We need to make a sticky thread that includes all the things you should know before buying the antenna. Chalk this current thread up as another whining thread number X and someone who should have done their homework before hand. I bought my Verizon iPhone knowing full well that it was subject to the "death grip." What did I do? I bought a case before I bought the phone. $10. Simple.

OK, you did. Now leave.

You really wasted time clicking a button to post that?

ummmmmmmmmmmm no douche being that many people have the issue on the forums and I choose to follow and defend a post i made, not like most people who post and run because they have no leg to stand on, I already know people who have seen my post outside of this forum and ithas helped them a lot in decision making and cases they may or may not buy, so again, instead of fanboying up and making retarded, pointless posts like you just did, don't read and leave

Wait, who sounds like a 12 year old?

The best way to initiate change is to vote with your wallet. Sadly, enough people are happy to accept the antenna issue by covering it up with a case that it makes it very difficult for those people who do vote with their wallets to actually make an impact. If only *everyone* who had the antenna issue voted with their wallet, I'm sure Apple would have done something about it by now. Sadly, they know they can get away with it, so they do!

and another fanboy shows up!!!!

Macrumors, you have one of the worst forums I have ever posted on, you should really control the threads better and keep fanboyism to a problem out

It's my ass and many others that have the problem, if you read the posts like im sure you didnt because you post comments like a 4 year old, you would see that a lot of people are having the issue and returning the phone or getting a bumper does not solve the problem for new customers wanting the iPhone

Apple shouldn't spin the orbit around me, it should be around their buyers who actually use the phone in real life situations that are dropping calls now, Never dropped calls on ANY verizon phone, now I do on the iPhone, a phone I have wanted for a long time and now I have to either return it or cover it with a case, Great job apple

indianavtx, do you even own one or you're just another steve jobs ball licker? If you do and do not have the issue then good for you, THAT DOESN'T MEAN THERE IS NO ISSUE, YOU'RE THE ONE THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE 12 YEAR OLD

I was just going to post last week how this issue seemed to have gone away from the forums and blogs.

It's back!

i'm having a hard time reproducing the antenna problem
my signal strength hasnt dropped below 3 bars since i activated the phone yesterday and ive been in multiple cities since then

what am i doing wrong???

i really want to whine like the rest of the little bitches so i can feel better about myself

At low signal I can make the antenna problem happen on my iPhone 4 in the UK yet I dont use a case. I have made a conscious decision to not touch the black bar at the bottom left of the phone when using it. This is my choice and I am happy to do that - problem solved. If you experience the problem and you are not happy with that then you can get a case or get a refund. It's simple.

My opinion has always been that apple made a design compromise on the antenna design in order to make the thinnest smartphone around. Yes perhaps design won over function and it would have been better if the join was elsewhere but it's not a biggy. If it hadn't made the press and been spread around the Internet, how many people would have noticed or even cared?
