I've noticed no issues with my iBook in my sig. Reboot time was about the same.

Havent noticed anything different at all to be honest.

It seems like Apple's intentions are to drive us crazy with the whine.

Took FOREVER to reboot. And now my airport and time aren't in the top right-hand corner anymore!

Has anyone else seen this? I'm going to reboot again.

Back to normal again. FEWF!

Thanks AppleInsider and WildCowboy for your tips.

Everything is good here, Just noticed my bluetooth menu is gone but other then that seems pretty good. My temps seem a little better too not sure what thats about. Its maxing out at about 135 F which seems better to me

I'm no insider... sadly! Did the Combo work or did you end up A&Iing

Thankfully, the combo install worked. 145MB though, but it was worth the pain of reinstalling.

Thanks again!

My MBP sat on the blue screen for over two hours before I held down the power button for 4 secs. Booted up fine though! No problems now and the update seems to have worked!

The new right click two finger thingy is uber-cool...

My Airport failed to work after the update. Internet Connect says its connected to my wireless connection. Im assuming my wireless router is out of the question since my Wi-Fi connection on my DS still works. Help anyone?

Try downloading the combo update, PPC or Intel.

What do you mean by the new right click two finger thingy?

Hows this for issues, I installed the update on both my iMac and my MacBook, and on both I recieved a message saying that there was an error during install. Afterwhich I could not open any of my Apps and when I did try to reboot, my system hung on shutdown and after about 30 minutes I manually cut the machine off. When I booted the machine up all I get is the grey screen with the Apple logo and the spinning thinker thing. I let that sit there for another 30 minutes, and cut the machine off. Now each time I attempt to boot I get nowhere, just the Apple Logo and the spinning thing. This happend on both my iMac and my MacBook.

I'm currently trying to archive and install on the MacBook so we will see how that works.

So for now I'm stuck on a PC waiting for my Macs. I never thought I would be writing that.

Anyone have any ideas??

Try this, not sure if it will help:

I'd like to say that it fixed my 17" MBP whine... but mine never whined in the first place. At least not that my ears can hear without putting my head to the keyboard. No issues at all that I've noticed with it, though I had no problems to fix, either. We'll see what it does to my G5 tower...

The 17" firmware update that appeared after I installed the update (not before--I'm assuming it's dependant?) does seem to have my MPB reporting slightly cooler temps on the Core Duo at more or less idle (down about 5C to the low 50s). There isn't any noticible increase in fan activity (that I can hear right now, anyway), and a quick test showed the temps getting up about as high as they did before under heavy load, so it's not a big difference, regardless.
