As much as I was excited about getting the SE, the more I think about it the more I realise what I really wanted is a smaller phone again but not a 4 inch screen.

I really wish Apple would have come out with something different (not that I dislike the 5's design, I actually love it) but if they had put some effort in making the bezels smaller, come out with a phone similarly sizes to the SE, maybe even marginally larger, but with a larger screen than 4 inches.

It seems Apple took the easy (lazy?) road with the SE and missed an opportunity for those of us who wanted a premium small form-factor device.

Redesign plus the latest specs would have increase the total price. It would be nice if they will release in the future 3 'flagship' sizes with the same design and specs, and keep the SE's with lower price point in the lineup.

PS - i dont see any difference between "this move" and what Apple doing with their MBPs line, keeping good design, and upgrading the internals...

Can't wait for the SE - I plan on checking it out on Tuesday and possibly picking one up if there's stock in the Apple Store. My only gripe is that there's no 128GB - I'm coming from an iPhone 6 128GB and will need to shed some GBs...

I really like the form of the 5s; it was a good phone. However I do like my 6s as well. It's probably the biggest size I would ever buy. the SE is tempting, but I will stick with what I have now.

I've been fortunate enough to experience all iPhone sizes; but would still say without regret that the 5s was my favourite. I love the 6s; its curved design is a sight to behold, but owning a 6 plus when that came out has taught me a lesson; one handed operation is a big selling point.

I have a 6s currently, but even that is tough to operate one handed without a case, as attempting hand gymnastics just results in it slipping right through your hand. I have the smart battery case which pretty much solves the problem, but the added bulk that comes with it still slays me.

I am very tempted by the SE.

I preordered a 64 GB iPhone SE to replace my 16 GB iPhone 6. I had an iPhone 5 before buying my 6 in 2014.

After using 4.7 inches for a year and a half, going back to 4 inches will be interesting. There's always the possibility of returning the SE and just keeping my 6 if it turns out I prefer the larger screen size.

That's exactly what I plan on doing as well, give it a try for about a week and see how I cope with the "smaller" screen. Can always revert back to my iPhone 6 if I really don't like it, but at least I have tried it then.

I'm switching back to a smaller phone from my iPhone 6. I got used to the size of the 6 but still prefer a phone I can comfortably use one handed when on the move. I have lots of options for getting work done whether I, in the office, on the move or working from home - iPad, MacBook, iMac etc so I like my phone to just be my phone and one that comfortably fits in to my jeans pocket. The SE is more than fast enough and should have a good camera on it whilst also supporting Apply Pay and has decent battery life so I'm sold.

All great points. I'm right with you.

I need my phone to be modern, fast, great camera, good battery, apple pay, super portable.

SE looks like the ticket!

Just did some thinking, and realized that it really is not a good idea for me to upgrade at this time. I've only had my 6 for around 8 months, and it's a better idea to wait a bit till I upgrade. I'll stick with my 6 for now, and reassess when the 7 comes out.
Ultimately I just got caught up in the excitement of this SE release, now that I really analyze I really don't think I'd be happy with the smaller size and even if I would be, its not a good time for me to upgrade. Still happy that Apple released a good solid 4" iPhone tho!

You want me to believe that you just 'realized' now that you had months to go before you could get a new phone?

Please...

Totally thrilled to get a device with decent specs that's cheap and has everything my 6s has that I use in a form factor I consider much better. Can't wait for Thursday!

Does anybody happen to know if the smaller screen on the iPhone SE will provide an appreciable difference in battery life?
Standby life probably isn't very good though, as the internals are pretty much the same except it has a much smaller battery.
