I'm getting pretty excited to be able to easily text with one thumb again. Can't do that comfortable on my 6. Now just to decide between gold or rose gold...
EDIT. Decided in gold. Hopefully will be getting a 64GB Gold SE!

I can't chose between gold or rose gold. :(

Do I return my Galaxy S7 for this? I love small phones but that iPhone 6S-level camera isn't that hot in low light conditions... hmmm...

So, when u preorder can you do so through your carrier? Or do you have to wait till the 31st for that? Trying to figure out how it'll work on the Verizon installment plan.

At $399 get both!

I may do at this point!!

I'm planning on having it in an Apple Midnight Blue Leather case most of the time, so I figured the gold will look best with that.

I ordered the official Apple iPhone 5S Brown leather case off Amazon.co.uk for £13 (I expect the price to go up after tonight's news), I think the gold will match that better than rose gold..

I am so tempted to switch from 6s to SE! The only thing that sucked in SE is the 1.2mp front facing cam. This is not acceptable. About the 3D touch, I personally just use it to preview links or images and I can live without it.

The 1.2mp front camera bothers me too..

I am definitely selling my 6s and getting the SE, this is the phone i have been crying out for for ages.

It made my heart sing to see that there's once more a 4 inch phone that isn't just a crappy budget device or just a gimped model of a bigger version! I loved my old 4 inch Android phone for all its flaws because of its size and now that I can have that on the Apple ecosystem? Score.

I cant believe how well Apple have done here, everything on my wish list is here. All i wanted was an iPhone 5s with a few upgrades, but it has loads of upgrades, more than i wished for, i thought they would be bound to leave something major off, but they haven't.

If i wanted to be really picky, it would have been nice if they could have shaved a few grammes off it. Its only one gramme heavier than the 5s which is nothing, and the 5s is light enough, but even lighter would be better, but i am just being picky.

Just need to make my mind up whether to pre order one or wait until they have been out a few weeks first, just in case there are any issues like scuffgate on the iPhone 5.

Great phone but no 128gb option, i suppose i could manage on 64gb but barely, i think Ill wait for the next SE model. I think this was the only thing stopping me. Bloody hell, apple, why didnt you offer a 128gb model?!

Lots of people saying the same, if you keep posting and keep the pressure on you never know Apple might listen.

64gb is more than enough for me so very happy.

Apple must have got something right with the SE, they are getting a lot of praise on these forums today. Usually loads of people slagging them off no matter what they do, but people don't seem to be able to find much to fault with the SE, especially with the price being reasonable as well.

Well done Apple.

Great price point, good form factor, good camera. Only problem is hampered LTE. Keeping my 6S and if I had a 5S i wouldn't upgrade to this yet at 5S is plenty fast.

How are they gonna market this thing? They still have to sell the 6s and plus models, so they can't spend too much time saying that the size is perfect...

They're not saying the size is perfect, they're saying the size is perfect for YOU if you prefer smaller-size screens.

I'd like to get one to test it out and also use it as a secondary phone. Having an inexpensive current generation iPhone to run the new iOS betas on would be nice!

That would look nice. Had I not purchased my Silver Apple Watch Sport with white band, I would've purchased the Gold Sport with Midnight blue band. It looks really classy.

Just did some thinking, and realized that it really is not a good idea for me to upgrade at this time. I've only had my 6 for around 8 months, and it's a better idea to wait a bit till I upgrade. I'll stick with my 6 for now, and reassess when the 7 comes out.
Ultimately I just got caught up in the excitement of this SE release, now that I really analyze I really don't think I'd be happy with the smaller size and even if I would be, its not a good time for me to upgrade. Still happy that Apple released a good solid 4" iPhone tho!

So, how do I get out of my ATT Next plan on the 6S?

And can I get this baby for free with a new commitment/contract???

I know for Verizon, and I imagine ATT is the same, you have to pay the remaining balance of the installment plan, in order to then start a new one.

I am going from a 6 to an SE and I'm excited but I understand your reasoning. Nothing wrong with making sensible choices for yourself. Kudos!
