iPad Pro Any buy the 13" after the 10" announcement ? Can't decide.

Same here. $949 without sale tax shipped to Texas. What color did you get? I purchased a gold one, but I just requested BhPhoto send me silver one instead.
I went space gray. I dabbled with a gold 6S+ and wish I hadn't. The white border is distracting on the screen.

I have a blank grey space on the right 1/4 of the screen when in landscape after the Tapatalk update. I assume this is not normal, or am I missing something?
Here's how mine is

I just ordered the 12.9" 128 GB LTE from b&h. I was going to get the 9.7", but with the discount it was only $70.00 not including taxes.

I chose the 12.9" mainly because the larger size would be great for watching movies, which I currently use my 13" MBP for. I don't have any tablet right now! :)

So having bought the LTE, I would just sign up with TMobile once I get it? I don't have to choose the carrier before placing the order, like with a phone?

I made the jump and did the Best Buy price match for the 128 and I'm really glad I did. I had the same experience as a lot of you I went in and started playing with it and it did seem like a little much. I actually left the store and figured I'd think about it a bit. I ended up thinking more about the multi tasking and I already have a mini if I want something portable so I figured what the hell I'll give it a shot. Got there about an hour before closing and picked it up with the pencil and keyboard.

Really love this thing and I'm so glad I picked it up. The screen is absolutely beautiful and it's really a joy to have that much real estate. Multi tasking is great having 1password available while setting things up at a swipe was nice. I really like that Smart Keyboard too it works great is comfortable to type on and having this in my lap is really comfortable. Really loving Notes Plus. I'm not much of an artist but I do always carry around a notebook at work and have always wished it was searchable, notes plus seems like I could take notes and use the OCR to convert them to searchable documents which is huge for me. Really intuitive interface too I really like it. As someone else mentioned I can sometimes have buyers remorse about purchases but after this one I'm really happy with it when I use it. Just a really nice experience.

Good choice man. I almost went with a Surface Pro 4 after being pissed with Apple with what they did with the ipp 9.7 (they're literally the same price as ipp 12.9 with i5/128gb) which has superior specs and a full desktop OS, but the multiple reports of sleep issues and gpu driver crashes scared me away.

I have the 13 in 128gb getting another one in the 256gb configuration.
A bit conflicted don't know if I should keep the first one or get rid of it and pick up a 10 inch pro.

Not really superior specs If it results in gpu crashes and sleep issues.

Thanks! Yeah a couple things I didn't like with the surface is while they made Windows 10 better for desktops I think it's worse for tablets now. They should have kept the start screen for tablets the same between Windows 8 and 10 (or at least have the option to switch) and had desktops work as they do in Windows 10 now. The larger touch targets were just nicer to work with if you were using it as a tablet. The full OS is a great thing to have though they just have to find the right balance I think. Also when I was in Best Buy and removed the surface book's tablet portion it was running pretty hot. While I wouldn't mind that for a laptop it would be pretty annoying for a tablet. Not sure if the surface pro has that going on as well and they do keep those things running all day so maybe not something you'd see it in normal use but just something I noticed.

MS did a great job making Windows 10 efficient and touch friendly, BUT I had to sell my Dell Venue 11 for one major single reason - the Windows software keyboard is just too damn sensitive and I can't spend my life fixing spelling mistakes. iOS keyboard is far from perfect too but it is more manageable.

Well the $799 price is gone. So they won't match that low anymore. And the $850 from Best Buy may be gone? I sure there will be further discounts but probably not in the next two weeks.

I should have gone yesterday for the price match and tried the bigger one. I was using split screen last night and my iPad kept locking up /'freaking out maths air 2 stumbles badly doing that. And it's cramped.

Oh well live and learn. Hopefully I'll like the new pro but if it still has that issue it won't be long for my house.

Google disable cstandby and set the max processor speed of the balanced profile on battery power to 75%. It's still more than fast enough for tablet type tasks but prevents the heat.

If you google surface cstandby you will find a ton of posts about it. Bonus for me with the surfce pro is even more battery life.

The big problem with Windows 10 is the lack of apps. I can't get TiVo to stream. The Twitter and Facebook clients are meh, web browsing isn't even great. Orally if someone just want to surf the web and email tablet mode it's ok not great, but without dictation like the iPad has entering large amounts of text in tablet sucks. Standard Windows dictation is terrible and a huge resource big. I'm shocked they don't have iOS or android like dictation yet.

On the upside if you're going to attach a keyboard I believe the surface pro is probably a better device than the iPad Pro for most people/ office tasks. Or it's even. Either way At he end of he day that's why I didn't get the big iPad. May as well keep,it small and light. Until eye get real,Lightroom or good video editing software on the iPad it's not going to replace my laptop. Though I'm going to miss having a bigger screen for watching video.

I sure I'd love the big iPad and maybe I'll get one in a few years. The hardware is so capable but we're still in app mode. Not programs mode. We need proper programs now. I'd they got people like Adobe to commit to full photoshop and Lightroom, if office was identical. If apples apps, were identical. If they built in some kind of limited finder to connect online services now like synology devices. The. That's pro to me. Right now Apple is very fond of throwing the word pro in to device names which clear,y aren't pro.

They do it i.e. their laptops too.

All discounts on bestbuy and BhPhoto have gone. However, Staples offers $50 off now.

Bhphoto has shipped my $949 iPad Pro 12.9 128 GB Cellular. Luckily, I do not have to pay sale tax, so I saved about $220.

I'm very happy with my 12.9" iPP. Would have bought it even if the 9.7" was available way back in November.

Love the roomy screen. 4GB RAM should help maintain performance with future iOS versions. Faster processor than the 9.7" should also help with future iOS versions. USB 3 speeds when paired with appropriate hardware. Screen size is virtually the same size as a real sheet of paper. Higher resolution than the 9.7" version - split screen mode gives equivalent of two 9.7" iPads side-by-side.

Edit: here's what 4GB can do for you... Split screen app plus a PiP video window.

You do not need 4gb for that. No issues with the exact same use case with 2gb ram.

Probably not for a web browser and an email window. But try it with a 75MB PowerPoint and a high res image in Pixelmator, and you'll see where 2GB begins to become a limiting factor.

Wow, I bought the same one from B&H last night - didn't realize that the discount is gone so soon, but it's still $1,005.00 which is 75.00 off Apple's price and no taxes

Anyone in the UK know any shops doing discounts for the iPad pro 12.9? The problem now is that most of the shops are trying to flog the iPad Air so thats getting discounted but nobody is discounting the 12.9 pro

After the keynote I found myself vaguely disappointed in the announcement and the features of the iPad Pro 9.7 -- just didn't see a really compelling reason to replace my current iPad Air 2 with it. Every time I've been in the Apple store I've looked at and played with the iPad Pro 12.9 but had held off to see what would happen in this spring keynote. The more I thought about it I realized that it would make more sense to buy something truly different and a major change from my iPad 2, and so got the iPad Pro 12.9. I love it!!! Yes, the larger size takes getting-used-to but I love the larger screen real estate -- wow! I also bought the Pencil, the Smart Cover and the USB-C 29W power adapter and the USB-C--to-Lightning cable. It really is fast, charges up the device significantly faster than using the 12W power adapter which came in the box. I don't much care for the Smart Keyboard and prefer to use my Apple BT keyboard instead or just type right on the iPad Pro 12.9 when need be. I am very pleased with my decision and my purchases and am keeping my iPad Air 2 as well for those occasions when I want to carry an iPad with me.

Did you get Space Grey? Only Space Grey is $1,005.00 while gold and silver are $1,079. At first, I ordered gold but last night I required B&H to ship silver instead of gold because I think gold looks bad in a large iPad.

Update: Silver, space grey and gold are $999 now.

It is usual. B&H always closes on the weekend, and they do not accept online order during that time. Although bhphotovideo.com is online, they are basically a brick store in NYC.
