With Apple....they try to relegate the small watch to women and big one to men with their watch band choices. I am a woman who has a 44 watch on a small wrist. I even own bands that are not feminine. I own girly bands too. I have a gold 8 phone that is really pink IMHO and a gold Max max and a coral XR...and I don’t even like pink. I have had silver white phones and space grey too.

I got the gold, looks fine, don’t feel any more feminine then when I had the silver before or black before that. Nice to switch colors. Truth be told, I don’t look at back much. All the action for me seems to be on the screen. The people I take pictures of see more of the back color than me.
 
I had a gold 6. Didn't like it. Scratches showed up too prominently.
When I changed to SE last year, I went with Space Grey.
 
I have a gold SE that I love. If the XR had gold I would have got it in gold as well. Get the color you enjoy.
 
Only colour I could reserve today for the 11 Max Pro was the gold one. I kind of like the colour. Only ever had black before. Unsure if I'll like it or not but I guess with a case you can't see the colour anyway?
 
I switched to Gold last year after being a die hard Space Grey / Black fan...

My order today was for another Gold iphone... They look fantastic, especially with an Urban Armor Gear Plyo case...

This is strange; I reserved a gold 256GB 11 Pro Max to pick up in London (there next week) for £71.45 a month over 20 months and including AppleCare plus, then;
Closer to home, the same phone, this time to pick up near where I live for £53.99 a month, this time over 24 months and not including AppleCare plus?
I didn't think you could get on the upgrade programme without AC+?
 
No. I did last year and sorry I did. I thought I liked it in store but when I got home blah. #FakeLighting ;)
 
I've had gold for the last few models. Really liked it, but went with green this time for something different.
 
All my past iPhones have been space grey, so for my 11 Pro I went gold. Really liked the gold of the XS, and honestly wanted a change. Space grey is nice but I’m a bit bored of it now.

oh, btw, traded #4 watch for #5 aluminum gold and NO mistake (GPS ONLY !) this time of getting the 'ka-ching cellular' option. more $$ for a separate plan so u can make calls w/out packn ur phone ?!! uh, how many times do you make calls while body surfing ? duh, saw me coming ! anywho, can't wait to tryout/use the new trip/lens wide-angle cam/vid system. throw in the A13 Bio/speedster chipset and i'd say we're done here ! cheers ! -s :apple:

I’m a male and last year I got the gold Max. I love everything gold. This year though I went with the midnight green because it’s the most popular color! I don’t get it why so many people think the gold is the women’s color. Please...

I agree with everyone else. Get what you like! I don’t think it’s outrageous to wonder if something looks a little more feminine or masculine. That’s not really an odd thought or question, so I don’t understand the negative comments. I would pick what you like!
 
I am! Gold 256GB 11 Pro. I had a rose gold 7+ then a space grey IPhone X so I haven’t had gold before and I have always loved the look of it. Time to go back to a light coloured phone! :)

The regular gold is fine. I also had the gold color on my old 5s and 6s and i loved it and i would get that one again. But Apple got rid of that and this new iPhone 8 like gold (copperish, salmon-like, blush gold) isn't something for me. Gold is ok, the pinkish Rose Gold, no thank you. It is clearly aimed for women. I mean, i don't care, if you like it you should buy it. Get what you like. But i think that a pink looking, rose gold phone is indeed feminine.

I also like the Xs and Xs Max Gold. It looks brownish. Also very nice.
 
One thing I do think and that is that the gold or the white look better in a clear case that the darker colours.

Does S5 aluminium gold hue match the iPhone this year as last year it was only the SS?
