Good to see a couple you guys with Wiz Khalifa on your lists. He's from my city. Even better is that he's actually pretty damn good.

Yea man, I've been listening to Wiz since 08.
"Say yea" was a dope track, and that's initally why I started liking him. I have to admit that I didn't think he was going to be as good as he has been so far. Deal or No Deal was a pretty nice album and Burn after Rolling was a sick mixtape. I listen to "this plane" on a daily basis, it motivates me. Wiz and Currensy are so awesome when they do collaborations.

I grew up on hip hop, started listening when I was like 9 years old. Some favorites:

I've been into hip-hop since Public Enemy's "Yo! bum Rush The Show" and "Licensed To I'll" by the Beastie Boys.

Currently, in hot rotation, the latest "How I Got Over"-album from The Roots. It is simply awesome.
When I'm not in the mood for hip-hop, I listen to Trentemøller a lot.

Ah sweet. I not heart that new Roots album yet. I hold them in high regard though. I have most of their albums and listen to them loads but still haven't picked up the new LP

Warning, contains pictures of current rap stars such as 50 Cent and Three 6 Mafia coupled with images of lynchings, slavery, minstrelsy, dope beat and tight lyrics

NYOIL - Y'all Should all get Lynched

Boom, hard hitting and totally needed now more than ever.

Just picked up the new Kid Cudi this Tuesday. Top 5 album at the moment for me. Already listened to it 10 or so times through.

I went to see them live in manchester a couple of years ago. Was so epic haha! I was so excited about it that when i saw leaflets in my then local hairdressers promoting the concert, i picked up about 50 and stood in the centre of town handing them out like i was one of their street team :D

Just because it's old doesn't mean it's better than some of the newer stuff. There are 30+ years of evolution in Hip-Hop with a great mesh of differentiators and styles. The music is changing with the times and culture, we can either accept it or bemoan it. :D

My favorite roots album is still "Come Alive"

I got the cd back in 2000 and it's still in 9/10 condition.
