I love hip hop music. One of my favourite music ever is the hip hop. Aussies hip hop is some of the most horrible **** I have heard.

on the whole, aussie hip hop isn't the greatest
but dont knock it completely
hilltop hoods have done some good raps
point and case: Fifty in Five http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpKMXQ5FzL4
yes, i know i'm quoting from far back (-ish) but i want to defend aus hip hop

anyway, i usually listen to gangsta
wu tang, biggie, pac
also been listening to scarface, especially the diary, mr scarface is back and the fix
i tried listening to underground, zion i, aesop rock, common
i couldn't really get into it for some reason
i might try listening to it sometime later
also listen to school, tribe called quest, krs one, kane

I love Hilltop Hoods, they're immense. Had no idea they were Australian.

Underground is really where it's at for me. Common:D:D

Does anybody actually enjoy the skits that these rappers put on their albums? I personally find them very boring and a bit pointless, I just wanna hear some music! Method Man is pretty bad for this, Raekwon, Eminem etc. I just don't get them :\

Currently jamming out to Modern Man's Hustle :D

I always uncheck them in iTunes. The only ones i think are funny are the funky uncles from Redmans first album.

And intro, interlude and outro

Ah well perhaps most intros, interludes and outros suck, but I know that the intros, interludes and outros on CL Smooth's album American Me are all good, and part of the album running order, and I actually like them, so I won't be doing the same thing with those. I've just not yet found a good skit

Ok, now Ive got to admit, alot of you are posting artists that Ive never even heard of. And Ive seen some put RAP artists in their lists as well so here are a few of my favorite hiphop/rap/pop artists:

Akon
Beyonce
LL Cool J
Pink
Plies
2pac
Dr.Dre
Eazy-E
NWA
Haystak
Lil Wayne
Ludacris
Missy Elliot
Nelly
Outkast
TI
Usher
YingYang Twins
50 cent
Lady GaGa
Black Eyed Peas

I like anything upbeat that I can dance to!

100% in agreement. The only skits I listen to are on Redman's first album and Wu-Tang's 36 Chambers. Everybody else blows.

I meant the filming of the video (obviously different than recording the actual track), the camera never leaves Sean's face. ;)

Ah, less impressed... ;) Still a quality track, and I really like the simplicity of the video, they way the camera unfocuses whenever he stops singing and focuses back in at the right time when he starts again, and the lighting is really cool too.

loving hip hop since '79

I knew that is what I wanted to do when I first heard Sequence and Sugar Hill and definitely can't forget the originators like Blowfly, James Brown, Dolomite. I have been rapping, singing, writing and dropping beats since I was around 10, started out as a freestyler in those days. Then at age 12 I put the pen to a pad. I like music all the way around and you have to be able to do that as a rapper; that way you never run out of ideas. Since I am 2 years away from 40; I have gotten more into the producing side. So I like Midwest, West, East, South, I have even heard some international stuff that was off da chain. My main thing about music has always been if the person has deep lyrical flow: Big Daddy Kane, Rakim the greatest, The Game, Ice Cube, E-40, NAS, X-Clan, BDP, of course Pac and Big, could relate to them cause that was time I was hustling in the streets. It has to get beyond a beat for me, you have to say something that makes me think. :apple:

Good to see a couple you guys with Wiz Khalifa on your lists. He's from my city. Even better is that he's actually pretty damn good.
