Hi all - I have a weird bug whereby the YouTube in-video 'scrubbing' thumbnails (not sure what they're called) don't display properly, but instead are split into four quadrants - each of which shows either a frame of the current or previously watch video - but not a thumbnail of that part of the video. Random example attached. I've tried going to settings -> privacy -> manage website data and deleting everything, but it doesn't help.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

John

Have you tried YouTube’s suggestion “Pull up for precise seeking”?

which version of macOS/Safari? Mac model? Any VPN or adblocker - if yes, which? video in Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc. is uneffected?

Thanks for this. I was using latest version of everything and no VPN, and was only affecting safari, but hadn't thought to check safari extensions. Turns out 'Noir' (turns websites into dark mode) was the culprit. Cheers.

Thanks. I was getting exactly this problem, and would never have guessed that Noir was the culprit.

Why would a dark mode utility cause YouTube to show thumbnails from a previous video?
