I think if anything, people that went from a 6 to a "SE" feels a little silly for paying for a new device when the 5S has been around for years.

Thats not fair; not everyone owned an iPhone 5 or 5s who is purchasing an SE from a 6 (not everyone experienced that "older" design)

The SE is an upgrade in pretty much every respect over the 6, other than the slightly better screen tech the 6 is using or if you have a major barometer fetish.

I mean, it is more powerful, its faster, has a better camera, has 2x the memory (and faster ram too), its lighter, battery lasts longer, has an always on co-processor, among many other features all the while having a lower MSRP

I sold my 6 for 300$ more than what I ended up paying for my SE, both 64gb models.

I don't feel silly for getting a better phone and making 300$ doing it :p

Everything in this post.

I went from a 4S to a 6, so this "old recycled design" is new and fresh for me.

Aside from the screen tech, this phone is better than the 6 in terms of specs. I love my SE, but liked my 6 too. What see isn't *that* much less. I'm not opposed to going back to 4.7", but unless Apple releases some incredible tech on the 7/8, I'll stick with the SE and its future iterations because I really love this device.

The SE is my first smartphone. I went from a flip phone to the SE on launch day, having ordered it the first day ordering opened. I have zero remorse. I am very happy with it. I cannot see the screen well without my reading glasses, but I like the small pocketable size of the device and am still having fun with the stuff it can do. I expect to keep it for a long time.

3D touch is underrated to a degree, I find. Personally, I do miss 3D touch quite a bit: I miss the short cuts, the live wallpapers, peeking & popping, the cursor and most especially the super convenient and fast multi-task switcher...for me this was the best use of 3D touch, quickly switching between apps. It really was much faster than double clicking the home button, especially when moving back and forth between apps.

Got to say thanks to you. Im a bit of an apple pro smart arse and know 99% settings inside out BUT i did not know about the 3D touch app switcher. Had this phone a week and new to 3d touch and i did not know this! Thanks!

I too would miss 3d touch and it surprises me how many people say they dont use it or need it or miss it. I use it ALOT, for peek and pop phone app, messages, maps. Especially as a track pad when editing text and selecting text. Bit clunky at first but once your used to it, its invaluable to me personally.

And now I know about the app switcher im real happy! I used to jailbreak for one reason, to use swipe gestures to open the switcher and switch apps. I always despised double clicking the home button, feels so old and clunky.

I do miss my 5s (sat in my drawer next to me) and did consider the SE but as soon as I found out it has no 3d touch I was out. Id miss my 6s+ way too much. I have big hands so one handed a 6s would be perfect, but I spend a lot of time at a friends house so have the + means I need no ipad or macbook.

Thanks again!

Hey no problem! Very happy to see the post was helpful to someone.

I find the same with many posts on this forum as well. Happy to see it go around.

I still have my 6SPlus. Sometimes I pick it up to use it and it feels so big and awkward to me. I've heard people say that going from a 6Plus back to a 5 felt like picking up a toy. For me it's a weirdly opposite feeling. The 6S Plus just does not feel like a smart phone to me. I don't what it feels like, maybe kind of a small tablet. I'm not sure I'll be going back to it even in the fall and winter when I don't need to be able to keep a phone in my pocket anymore while outdoors.

When I had an iPhone 5s I did not really use it one handed that much. Now I use the SE one handed all the time. I think going from the iPhone 4, which I loved best, to a 5s was hard for me and I just was never happy with the 5s I had also because it wasn't very stable. It froze and crashed a lot. The battery life was poor.

But going from a phablet back to the iPhone 5 form factor was a better adjustment for me and this time around I appreciate the form factor of the SE and the fact that it's got good internals and excellent performance.

Approaching three months with my SE, which I got on launch day. As mentioned before, this is my first smartphone. I am still finding new stuff it can do. Get a ride, buy a movie ticket and skip the line, track my route when hiking or walking, get directions with real-time traffic congestion information, shopping lists, get airline boarding passes and track my baggage, pay for stuff at the few places that take that form of payment, and even read Kindle books while waiting for a haircut.

Reading on that small screen is not ideal, but works while waiting for something.

And the size of the SE is perfect for me. I'm very happy I got it, and if I lost it today, I'd buy another just like it.

Been using since launch day also. Paired with my Garmin Fenix 3 - this is the ultimate combination for the outdoors person. Small, great battery life - and You can use iPhone 5 cases which you can find now for a few dollars each all over the place.

Is anyone that left a 6/6s 6+/6s+ for the iPhone SE feeling any regret or buyers remorse? Or is anyone on the fence about which phone you want to keep? Curious how folks are feeling about the different screen sizes now that the phone is out...

Just the opposite. I bought a 6S two weeks ago and disliked it more than I liked it. Horrible battery life and it was hard to surf/text with one hand.

Traded it back into Apple for a SE and couldn't be happier.

It's a nice phone the SE, but don't you ever find yourself squinting at it?

I don't use the phone the same way I use the iPad. Either way I need reading glasses, but they're different gadgets for different uses. A bigger screen would be easier to read, but too awkward to carry and use one-handed. The size is perfect for me.

Um no. This is one of the strangest "issues" I see people post with a smaller phone. The text is the same size as a bigger phone - there's just less of it on the screen at one time.

That's true.

But still Apple should offer a way to get bigger text in safari, every other system offers this.

Im still really really enjoying the SE

White/gold 64 to swap off with 6s plus 64gb space grey 9.0.2 jailbroken

9.3.2 jailbroken is supposedly coming within the week so may have to roll iOS 10 beta back to that for jailbreak on SE, but I really am enjoying two phones for now

Won't ditch the phablet either

My 64 gold (had 16 gold and 16 silver before that) does not have a lock button rattle and it feels really solid, shocked!

I just got the se. I love it minus the slight rattle. I ****ing hate the rattle.

Mine does not rattle. Take it back and show them that it rattles and ask for a unit that does not rattle.

Today I took my daily walk in a part of town I was not familiar with, where some of the streets were curved and confusing. My phone guided me without any problems. Super-cool. Yes, any smartphone will do this, but this is my first smartphone. I really like it a lot. A bigger phone would be easier to see the map, but harder to carry and use. I had two map programs running, and music through my Bluetooth earbuds. Such fun!

Yeah, but the contrast is noticeably lower, especially out in daylight outside....

No regrets here. I honestly thought I would go nuts typing on the se especially after having a iPhone 6 Plus last year and a 6s plus this year. When I got the phone today and started using it I felt like a old love came back to my life. This phone is amazing.

I've looked at both the 6s and the 6s+ and the SE looks like the best bargain. I currently have a 5s, but will be moving to the SE. My only complaint to Apple is they didn't give me the 128gb option.

Yeah i'm going to do that his evening. At first, I didn't mind but I think my SE in gnerial is defective. The touch screen isn't as responsive. Maybe i'm comparing it too much to my 6s but who knows. Hopefully Apple won't give me any flack.

My wife uses a 6s for personal use, and an SE as her work phone. She has both with her at all times. The SE has fantastic battery life. In terms of standby time it's not even a comparison. It puts her 6s and my 6s Plus to shame.

Almost one week of the SE has convinced me this is the perfect phone for my needs. I just got back from the Apple store - traded my 16gb for a 64gb. I figure I'll be keeping this for a long time :)
I just got the 16gb as well yesterday and am kicking myself for not going for the 64gb. I think I'll go back to the store for and exchange.
