Just called for the 2nd time

Soo...I called yesterday (1.5hr hold time) and gave them the address update. The guy said he updated it and that I would receive an email update in 24-48hrs, and made it sound like it would update on my "Orders" page.

Well, 24hrs+ later, no email, no update on the "Orders" page, so I called again today (1.5hr hold time), explained the situation, and the guy said the updated shipping address was in their system, still needs to be updated by their "back-end" or something, and that I wouldn't receive an email confirmation. He also made it sound like the "Orders" page wouldn't be updated. BUT, he said the phones would ship to the updated address that I gave them.

I mean, he said he saw the updated address so I believe him, I just find it odd that I'm not going to get any confirmation (so it seems). Anyone else had the same experience?

That's not entirely true though, and what are you gonna do when the Fedex says sorry the shipper has restrictions on this, show them this chat dialogue?

Every year I've tried things with the shipper it's been heavily restricted by the shipper.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with FedEx. The shipper can restrict the item from being held. They would need the tracking number to determine if you're allowed to have it held.

Nope, mine was instantly updated, as he said he changed the address I refreshed my Orders and it was showing, as well as a confirmation email.

I wish this happened to me... I've been waiting for a confirmation email and for it to be updated on my order status

I was able to change my shipping address.. It was going to Memphis, TN.. Im currently located in FL.. And they couldn't change it to just any address.. But they changed it to the billing address that i used for my payment information. Which is FL..
She said that she could be a request in for it to be changed, but it could take 2-3 days and the request could be denied. But she was able to do it that way. and it showed instantly on Apple.com

I was on the phone for a total of 1 hour 54 minutes

There is a thread on here with plenty of successful reports about having their iphone 5s preorder phones redirected by UPS/Fedex once shipped to new address or a local facility for pickup, so I'm not worried about it and going that route. Of course, it costs a little $ to do that.. And updating directly with apple is free, so to each their own.

I was told the exact same thing, and 24 hours later I have not received an email nor has the address been changed. Considering calling back again.

I called yesterday and was told the same thing. It changed within 6-7 hours. I did not get an email. Its the weekend so it may take some extra time for you. I can confirm my order details page was changed, hence how i know.

Yes, order from Apple.com (AT&T Account) and changed my address this morning. It's possible to do it just need to get the right person on the phone.

Had one more order to change (3) total.

Spent 1 hour 40 minutes on the phone, he answered, I asked to change, he updated the address, instantly showed up on my Order Page and already received an email confirmation of the changes.

Twice no problems instant changes. If you didn't get an instant change I'd call again. :apple:

ATT shipping address change experience

I got thru this morning to Apple, after 1hr 44min on hold, not too bad considering the results. The Apple Rep was amazing! I said, "could I change my shipping address" she replied, "Absolutely!" I asked if a change would delay shipping, ect...her reply, "of course not". She was so helpful, friendly, happy and knew really what she was doing. It took about 3-4 minutes to change and re-route two different orders. As soon as I got off the phone, I received a confirmation e:mail from Apple showing the address delivery change. I logged in to my Apple account and the address delivery change was already updated there as well. Very impressed with the service I received, albeit, with millions of phone calls, the hold times are long, but the results were worth it.

I'm actually surprised Apple is allowed to override the carrier instructions. When the 5 came out, the address change could be done right on your order, online, but now there's the carrier restriction message. Seems odd that they'd do that.

Fedex doesn't charge for this. UPS might.

Smooth as silk! 40 minutes on hold this morning and then a very friendly csr took care of it for me. She had to go through the "back end" which she said she did "like 1,000 times yesterday". Her supervisors told her to quote 24-48 hours before I would see it updated when I logged in but that everything was good and that I would receive my phone on Sept. 19th. Yay!!!

To everyone that would rather not sit on hold forever: next time, change your billing address on your carrier account before ordering.

Yep i had two orders switched yesterday. One was instantaneous on the site while I was on the phone. The other wouldn't let her change it so she put in the note with back office. Came home from work and it too was updated on my ordered page. Got the email confirmation last night as well.

Happy camper
