the second part is a total non-sequitur. incorrect too: we do know a lot about cancer and we do have continuously improving treatments.

If flax seed oil isn't as effective that would certainly explain why I started to seriously crave fish when I was vegetarian.

Is there any good vegetarian source of omega-3?

Everyone craves things when they stop eating them.

When I don't have oreos I crave them, does that mean my body is somehow missing oreo's from my diet?

Hemp is a great source of vegetarian Omega-3, not to mention a complete protein.

...Which all involve raditaion. We do not know anything about cancer that allows us to have non harmful treatments. Hell, we dont even know how the human body does what it does, or even why half the time.

Guess where Associations get their info from? You know, maybe Doctors that perform research... and such.

Its been thought by doctors the human body craves what it lacks it nutrition. But the brain can override any bodily function, like we don't need so much Cocoa and Sugar yet we almost crave it to death.

Technically most plants doesnt directly provide the Fatty Acids that the body uses, but a precursor fatty acid called ALA which is converted into what the body needs through enzymes.

Sea plants appear to be the only vegetarian source for EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seed oil is a great source for omega-3 as far as the fatty acid LNA is concerned. Since LNA is the only essential dietary nutrient with respect to omega-3 fatty acids, it is not clear to me whether direct sources for EPA and DHA are necessarily needed for everyone, especially if you are able to keep the intake of LA (omega-6 fatty acid) low and maximize the intake of LNA (omega-3 fatty acid) to achieve an optimal omega-6 to omega-3 ratio which will improve the body's conversion process of LNA to EPA/DHA. It doesn't seem to me that any of the studies are really conclusive in this area. Unfortunately vegan and vegetarian diets compared to omnivore diets generally seem to contain even more omega-6 fatty acids if one is not careful

Fish meat contains EPA and DHA only because they eat those sea plants, so by eating algae or algae-derived supplements directly you'd pretty much be skipping the middleman and getting around the issue of fish contaminated with heavy metals, PCBs and dioxin. Here's a supplement derived from vegetarian sources.
