The only problem with the idea of having a smartphone which does phone, email and text well and all the other stuff badly is that, at least in my case, you pay the same data plan fee as you do for a phone which works on all scores. So, in a lot of ways, if I were to stay with Cincinnati Bell I would really do much better to get the TOL Android next time around. Something like the Nexus One probably does it all at least well, and there is enough of the entertainment stuff on there to keep you, well, entertained.

I have a DROID, it's an impressive smartphone considering how new Android is. At the rapid rate the OS is being adopted, their sure to challenge the iPhone & others as they gain more experience. There is a huge number of Android powered smartphones scheduled to be released in the second half of this year. Things are about to become very interesting.

You need the original Bold. Best BB ever made.

Word.

But its still not saying much. Flaky software, bulky and a propensity for the trackball to fail.

I used to love Blackberrys and I almost bought a Bold, until I managed to get a hold of my iPhone and that was it. Screw RIM, iPhone won me hands down.

I'm getting the Blackberry 9650. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is great but I need a dependent PHONE. For me the iPhone had too low of a speaker (both headset and speaker phone). The browser on the blackberry isn't great but it'll improve with OS 6.0 and for what I use it for it fits me needs perfectly. Call me old fashion but I still prefer using a keyboard too.

AT&T's new plans along with the new iPhone didn't impress me personally. Just my personal preference.

Hello,

Wonder, was anybody disappointed with iPhone 4? I loved the design and stuff.. but everything else -- the software, etc. -- was not changed too much. Love the "combined inbox" and multiple Exchange accounts but that's it. Still no additional info on home screen, etc.

I am seriously considering getting Blackberry Bold 9700 instead of iPhone 4. It's cheaper, it does email good, works with it really fast.

Although I have never had an iphone 4 I did make the switch from the previous iphone to the bold 9700, I can say that I am very happy with the blackberry.

I love my iPhone 4 and my bb Bold 9700. They're two different devices, so it's hard to compare them. Web browsing, apps, and media, the iPhone wins hands down. Messenging the bb can't b touched. I like the notifications on the bb too. iPhone notifications are so aged it's not funny. I can't live without either....but the bb is provided by my job. If I had to pay for it it would be a hard choice which one to choose.

I have BB9700 now and I am regretting that I didn't choose iphone 4. If you are a mac, then having blackberry is not good!

Why do you say that. There's not much you need a computer for with blackberry. At least that's what I found out when I owned one a few years back.

9700 was released less than a year ago, last November. Not sure what exactly did you own, but that phone was not 9700 for sure.

The 9700 came out in December of 2009.

I had the Bold 9000 before my iPhone 4 and loved it when I got it. It just got to the point that I was limited on apps that I could install because of the limited memory. I sold it on EBay for $180 and bought my iPhone 4 and will never go back.

After using an iPhone, I can't go back to anything BB. I've had 6 BB's since 2004 and all I can say is that RIM needs to change the way they do things or they'll lose the individual consumer very soon.

I recently tried a Bold 9780. After about 36 hours with it, all I could do is think about how badly I wanted my iPhone back!

Ok then, thanks for letting us know you are considering switching...

And no, nobody has been disappointed with the iPhone 4, it's just you :)

Dur, this post was from June 2010 so the less than a year was pretty much spot on....

I'm happy for my iphone except for all the **** I get from my friends since they all have Android phones, saying my phone can't do **** even though my phone is jailbroken.

Over the weekend I picked up a Blackberry Torch. I've never had a BB and wanted to see what all the hype was. I also have never owned an iPhone, but felt it was time to step up to one. Though I truly wanted the iPhone 4, my husband talked me into the BB. I had it for two days and could not believe how buggy it was. It kept locking up (a VERY common problem according to all the forums) and I had to keep taking the battery out and putting it back in. The keypad, though I know some prefer it, was horrible for me and I got frustrated with it. Yes, it has an onscreen keypad but that is almost as bad because of the size of the keys.

Finally after two days, I faced the fact that I am and always will be an Apple fangirl and traded in the BB for an iPhone 4. Yes, I paid the $35 restocking fee without argument. The BB, to me, was that bad.

Thus far, I know I made the right choice.

Not a fan of BB's. Their design and OS seems like something from 5 years ago. My girlfriend has a BB Bold and honestly using that thing is agonizing.

Blackberries are horrendous smart phones. My mom's Torch is agonizing to use. Completely counter-intuitive OS, poor touch screen implementation, just overall painful.

The 9700 is decent, but just never held a candle to many other devices on the market.

a little disappointed here. getting dropped calls and contacts complained that i was breaking up on my vz iphone 4.

le sigh
