I'm ecstatic w/ the iP4 b/c of the improved photo and video. But if I were to switch platforms it def. would not be to the Bold. That is the anti-iPhone. It's clunky, no touch screen, non-intuitive and mediocre battery life. At least the Droid phones try to copy the iPhone, and you know the saying, is the imitation is sincerest form of flattery.

and you can tether as wifi hotspot for free

Keep in mind this is only for a limited time, and also Sprint says it will soon throttle the speed of customers that use too much data.

Well I hate to say this but I'll but my bold 9700 up to any iPhone you have and blow you outta the water with battery life. Running the same apps. Everything. With heavy use I could get 2-3 days out of my bold. Email all day, bbm all day, stream pandora, send texts. And but the end of the day I still have 80% of my battery left.

The one thing I like about bb is they are really good with power management.

Hello,

Wonder, was anybody disappointed with iPhone 4? I loved the design and stuff.. but everything else -- the software, etc. -- was not changed too much. Love the "combined inbox" and multiple Exchange accounts but that's it. Still no additional info on home screen, etc.

I am seriously considering getting Blackberry Bold 9700 instead of iPhone 4. It's cheaper, it does email good, works with it really fast.

In comparison, the Blackberry hasn't changed in the last 4 years at all.

It's the same ****** phone with no apps.

Yes, go ahead and get one.

Same apps? Are you joking?

BB doesn't have a fraction of the Apps available for iPhone.

ALso, I have a BB Bold 9000- and I can kill it in 2 hours. if I restart it the battery goes down 2 squares.

Trust me. Your BB 9700 won't last more than a few hours if I start browsing the internet on 3G (with the worst browser of any phone) and watching youtube. I give it a couple of hours until it dies.

I charge my iPhone 4 every other night.

Now, you are comparing a keyboard phone with outdated software with a 2" screen with a modern smartphone with a 3.5" touch screen with 3 times the resolution.

I gotta admit, for just a pure messaging phone, a BlackBerry make great phones. Sometimes people don't need all the bells and whistles. Just texting and email. If you want internet, just get a laptop or tablet. I think the Bold 9000 from 2008 is still sexy as hell. Yeah, I know it can be wide around the waist. After seeing Due Date and watching Robert Downey Jr's character carry it around, I still have envy for the original Bold!

I would switch to BlackBerry phones when QNX is in there and not just for tablets. I saw the PlayBook play two Flash videos in the background when iPad can't even play one. Many CrackBerry addicts will always stay loyal to RIM. They have had a following for nearly a decade now and they won't lose them.

The OS war will be between iOS vs Android vs WP7 w/ QNX as a dark horse. My next iPhone after the 4 is iPhone X in 2016. Right now, iOS no longer intrigues me. I feel I can use iPhone 4 beyond 3-4 years. In the next five years, I plan to buy Sony NGP in 2011/2012 (Android), Xperia Play "4" (2014), and WP7 and QNX phones or tablet. Try them all out. I'm already mapping it out with these future purchases in my Notes app.

I need Bluetooth data transfer that can communicate with other devices, expandable memory, and less closed philosophy than Apple, but with some control. An iPhone will never do that for me. Apple is like a double-edged sword. Their greatest strengths is also their weakness and why they can be so polarizing to so many people. Like the Yankees, Cowboys, and Lakers. Love them or hate them. I know some people hate Sony, but I plan to root for them again. Throughout my years, their products have always served me well from my personal experience.

I can watch a full movie on my blackberry and still have over 50% battery. I'm not knocking the iPhone. I still have a 3G but the only thing I don't like is how many restriction apple puts on it. I can customize ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING on my BB. You can barely change your ringtones on the iPhone.

I had 3 BBs before my iPhone 4 so I think I know what each are good at.

I agree the BB is easier to customize. You could male any song a ringtone. I figured out how to do the sane thing through iTunes and it only takes a few more steps.

Apps: apps on the BB are pitiful compared to the iPhone. Period.

Battery: the 9700 battery will obviously last longer because the screen is smaller and has 1/8 the pixels as an iPhone 4. It is really not a big deal. I just make sure I keep it charged.

Media: the BB falls way short here. I flew to Vegas last month. I went into iTunes on my iPhone, downloaded a rental movie (over Wifi) and watched it on the plane. The movie was almost 2.5 hours long and my battery only dropped 20%. Not bad.

The only thing I miss from the BB is BBM. I solved that by converting friends and coriander to PingChat. Problem solved.

I also agree that RIM is in trouble. My work started allowing us to use iPhones and Android devices about a year ago. Over 75% of those who I work with who had a BB have switched. I have yet to her "I miss my BB" from even one person.

I could never go to Blackberry. My iPhone can be anything. iPod. Video camera. portable gaming system. mobile computer. radio. etc.

Can't really do it on a Blackberry. Not trying to cause a fight here, but I think the iPhone 3G with 4.x is better than Blackberry. Maybe even an original iPhone.
