Man, Diane Dyer sounds like a real asshat.

Are they told to just doubt everyone's story right off the bat? I don't know.....I'd have a problem with them insinuating that a device wasn't mine (stolen) if I was an AT&T customer.

So now the iPhone that is being unlocked has to have been associated with the account of the person requesting the unlock? What do they need to verify the former account? Will the phone number and first name suffice? That's all I got lol.

I'm sick of this bias service by AT&T.

Me and my Uni mates heard about it and we all applied at the same time, only three of us got their iPhone's unlocked within the estimated process time. All of us in the same stuation; in the U.K. and none of us were AT&T customers.

We then called up AT&T several times and everytime we were told something totally different.

Yesteday made a last call and they said apparantely they changed their policy so I needed an AT&T account. I told the guy on the phone who I knew was Latino but refused to speak in Spanish that when I made my request there wasn't such policy so therefore it was irrelevant in my case. I also told him about my mates phones getting unlocked regardless whether if they were AT&T customers or not.

At last told me that there was nothing they could do on this matter and that I couldn't take this further because the "Technical Department" had all the controls for barring/unlocking devices and that there was no way I could get in touch with them.

Absoulutely retarded, bias and discriminatory service from a company who claims to have 100m customers. Lack of planning, retarded decisions and confusion.

I give up. **** AT&T's customer service.

Anyone with an AT&T account? If you could unlock my iPhone I can pay up to $50 so please help!!!!!

in an earlier post you said that u got denied on one of your phones but when u looked at imei info it said unlocked yes .... is this an accurate site and did u end up getting the congrats screen on that phone because i have the same situation. i made case april 24 and did not go thru but i just now looked at imei info and its says its unlocked idk if i can believe this cuz i put an old tmobile sim card in and i could not get the congrats screen... do u know if it has to be an active sim card to make it say congrats maybe ??

bro the phones got unlocked at the resolution date. and it isnt necessary whether you get the Unlock screen or not. if your T mobile sim is working in ur iphone then its unlocked! otherwise its not! coz frankly speaking i never got the unlock screen on any of my iPhones unlocked from AT&T or Rogers or anywhere!
 
i think the reason mine did not show it cuz i do not have an active tmob or other sim card to use it has to have service to show the congrats screen so maybe thats the problem ....

well i cant say anything! coz everytime i have tried i have used with the active sim and nope i never got the unlock screen!!! just tell me do you get the T Mobile signals? or it just says No service? and did you try activating ur iPhone with the t mobile sim?

It just said no service .... and no i did not try because that sim card was old and disconnected
 
Same for me... I just paid 40.000 colones my local currency and I make a switch with an employee of apple for another iphone... is the same just is factory unlock...
AT&T treat us as nothing, even when we paid for those useless iphones.. Saturday I called them in order to get information why my case was denied, I ask for the supervisor and he told me, I need your account holder information, I said to him... I dont have any account, I bought it at no commitment price, he told me, miss I cant do anything this service is just to att customers :O
WHAT!!! I'd make the request on april 17, I attached my proof of purchase, then my iphone is not going to get it unlock due security policies?? what the hell is this.. and guess what... he hangs up the call... I wish somebody of Quality of customer service take care of this... at the end of all this journey att for me are thieves... I hope someone be able to make a lawsuit regarding all this, because we are a lot of people at the same placed as me... paying full price and even we can use it...

waiting for a month now

I submitted an iPhone 3GS the day the unlock became available. Still waiting for the case to be completed. I just checked again with AT&T, and they are just saying "it is being worked on". I am a bit afraid that it never got entered right as it was the first "iPhone unlock" the person I spoke to processed back then.

A day later, I submitted an iPhone 3, and it was unlocked in about a week.

Has anybody had success submitting a phone a second time for the unlock? My hope is that the second time will work better if the first case got messed up.

Some reps don't even make you a case. They just make up numbers. I've had this happen to me twice. So, after you get off the phone with the rep, call back with the case number they just gave you. Say you are calling to check the status.

That's a good way to make sure your case has been started.

But in your situation, I think the rep never made a case for you.

so i am guessing still this has to do with the sim card not being active so it is not connecting to tmob service.... and not going through to unlock aswell as show the carrier .... but it does switch to the indivual sim card numbers so it does recognize it its just not authenticating with tmobile.... guessinggg....
 
It seems that AT&T doesn't even bother to reply that my request has been denied. Just got an e-mail telling me that my issue has been resolved.

Did you try to check the imei from imei.info?

Dude just get a sim and check it! Simple as that!
