awww I didn't say restore buddy.

usually it's easier to just use redsn0w or SAM to deactivate. you can extract the lockdown folder if you made a backup on your computer. I am guessing

he cant restore it any more! since he restored and now SAM doesnt work!

you can restore upto iPhone 4. even on 5.1 with a tethered jailbreak. I doubt Vishage is unlocking a 4s.

then again my assumption

yes bro i know that but i am saying that he restored and he didnt backup the lockdown folder so he cant unlock his phone now!

Every time I connect my iPhone to iTunes, the "welcome" window appears. It almosts acts like the phone is brand new each time. I have no idea to verify if the unlock actually works since i'm already a AT&T customer. Anyone else with the successful unlock get this welcome screen when connecting to iTunes?

can you tell me what Welcome screen you are talking about? did you get COngratulations your iPhone has been unlocked screen? if yes then you are unlocked!

tried restore , now lost the SAM unlock too :(

Did you really check imei.info as advised? Because if you did, it would have showed "Sim locked: YES" meaning it's not Unlocked. And it was stressed enough by MuscleNerd, that people doing the SAM Unlock Must Backup their Activation Tickets to reuse when necessary. You should have researched before doing the Restore!

Message I saw after backing up and restoring my iPhone.

Message I see everytime I connect my iPhone to iTunes. I have to hit continue each time to move on. I'm wondering if factory unlocked iPhones go through the same thing.

so basically you are unlocked with the first message if you used a sim other than AT&t to activate

First screen shot shows that ur iPhone is unlocked! The second shows that you need to register ur iPhone with Apple. U can take a look by just inserting ur imei on imei.info or by inserting some other sim in ur iPhone!

I've registered my iPhone 4s with Apple and still get this message. Just curious.

After unlocking, it makes you reregister every time it activates the phone for some reason. I think after a couple times of saying "no" it gives you an option to never register. But even that only sticks until you activate again.

:) Well he`ll google that after you pointed it out.

And congrats on the unlock. Its epic the way AT&T spreading the looove!

yeah i am pretty sure about that! and thank you very much! i am stuck with my other device! they say due to security reasons my iphone cant be unlocked! i had filed the case and i chatted with rep today and he said that ur iPhone is unlocked! i checked on imei.info and it says SIM LOCKED : YES and then i chatted with other rep and he said that due security reasons it cant be unlocked! i dont know what is going on with them:/

I got another denial:

We are unable to complete your request at this time due to the following reason: The unlock code for this device is unavailable due to security restrictions based on the device's history. You may want to return the device and/or provide feedback to the seller.

Any suggestion on what can I do in order to unlock it?

No because every time you make a request for that IMEI, the "security restriciton" will always be linked to it. So it's either been reported lost or stolen.

I'm sick of this bias service by AT&T.

Me and my Uni mates heard about it and we all applied at the same time, only three of us got their iPhone's unlocked within the estimated process time. All of us in the same stuation; in the U.K. and none of us were AT&T customers.

We then called up AT&T several times and everytime we were told something totally different.

Yesteday made a last call and they said apparantely they changed their policy so I needed an AT&T account. I told the guy on the phone who I knew was Latino but refused to speak in Spanish that when I made my request there wasn't such policy so therefore it was irrelevant in my case. I also told him about my mates phones getting unlocked regardless whether if they were AT&T customers or not.

At last told me that there was nothing they could do on this matter and that I couldn't take this further because the "Technical Department" had all the controls for barring/unlocking devices and that there was no way I could get in touch with them.

Absoulutely retarded, bias and discriminatory service from a company who claims to have 100m customers. Lack of planning, retarded decisions and confusion.

I give up. **** AT&T's customer service.

Anyone with an AT&T account? If you could unlock my iPhone I can pay up to $50 so please help!!!!!
