I knew I wasn’t crazy.

App developers have the opportunity to have their app request more RAM than the standard limit.

Which is why apps such as Octane X is able to work phenomenal. It’s up to the developers’s to code their app.

Does it make a difference going from 12GB or 16GB. The answer is 100% YES.

that has been my suspicion for a while…as the number of apps that seem to basically reset while sitting in background seems a bit arbitrary. apps like youtube that can’t keep your session active and completely start over when re-summoned is very annoying.

i sense with more ram available across all devices, these apps will start to make more use of it in future updates.

In my opinion, the Nano Texture is great to have if it will be used stationary. If you use it mobile on a regular basis, be prepared for accidental scratches on the screen. I also suggest you buy an extra cleaning cloth when traveling and a very, very soft feather duster for home use to ever so gently keep the glass clean from dust particles etc.

I'm a very light user of the iPad compared to the rest of you. The one I have is a 12.9" iPad Pro from 2020 (which I bought used in 2022 to use as a portable monitor via Sidecar), with the A12Z Bionc chip, the one before the M1 chip version.

The screen has two bright spots, and I have iPadOS 26 on it, which works ok. I'll keep running this one until it either stops working or it runs out of Apple software support. Only then will I upgrade, which may be when the M7 or M8 are coming out. And even then, I'll buy an older one like M5 or whatever.

Should unironically get the Apple Polishing Cloth. People love to dunk on it and meme about it but its perfect for the nano texture screens.

Does anyone know if there is a review emargo getting lifted soon for the M5 iPad Pro's?

I'm interested to read some hands-on impressions, if there's any real difference in battery from the M4, noticiable performance improvements etc. :)

just changed my order to 11 inch ipad pro 1TB nano texture

felt works better with my 16 inch macbook pro and i have a samsung tab s10 ultra for mainly media

DRAMA QUEEN

I adjusted to 26 in about 2 days. It’s fine. It’s more than fine.
You’re probably right that it was some drama in my comment😅

But I think that keyboard users are, in general, happier with this update than non-keyboard user because it makes multitasking dramatically less efficient for many touch users including me.

Look at split view. It takes 2-3 times longer and it’s much cumbersome to get it right compared to how split view worked on iPadOS 18.

If it means i can be way more productive on my ipad for a couple more clicks. I would imo gladly take it.

It comes out on the 22nd of october. 2 days away from the time of writing. I’m excited to see linus’s impression of ipadOS 26. I think apple will listen to his points better than apple will listen to ours.
