well.. I live in Colombia. 2 years ago, I spent 1000 US$ on an iPhone 6s here. The iPhone 8 64gb costs exactly 1000 US$ today. So, basically, I have two options: spend 1000$ on an iPhone 8 by buying it here or spend the same amount on an iPhone X by getting it directly from Apple (but wait a few weeks).

So no remorse. It's my main work tool. I use it all day, every day. I love it and I can afford it. I think I made the right choice.

No... ish...

I'm super stoked to get mine on Friday, but did just do some quick maths and realized I'm just shy of spending $1600 on this deal.
(Phone, tax, AppleCare, Case, USB-C charger, USB-C cable)

That is a lot of money, but it is arguably the most used device I have, so why not? It does not change my standard of living, I don't need to budget or sacrifice to get one, so besides the mental hurdle of paying that sum of money for a luxury I don't exactly "need," I have no regrets.

Considering my car payment on a second car I didn't "need" and keeping my "paid-for" car instead of trading it in cause I liked it too much, a phone is chump change.

Maybe if I wasn't single, my SO would tell me I'm crazy and I would have no defense.

Kinda..
For me it has nothing to do with £1000 price.I'd have the same feeling even if it was £600
I just watched some of these new unboxing and hands on videos and to be honest,I just don't like the design.
the frame bezel looks bad in my opinion and the vertical camera is really ugly and out of place.the notch looks even worse now.

And I don't like the new gestures either.

So yeah,I'm kinda feeling the buyers remorse..which is sad..it will be here in 3 days time and this is how I feel about it right now!

At this point there is a good 50% chance I return it.
I will also sell my 3 months old 7 Plus,it's just awkward to handle, and will either go back to a regular 7 (8 is just waste of time vs 7 imo)

Then just cancel it now. Let someone else have a phone they really like at launch. Once you open it up and start using it no one else will be able to use it and you wasted a lot of people's time and money. You can make someone else happy and both of you can be happy.

Few complain about the price of a base iPhone 8 at $699
Or a Plus for $799
But OMG an Extra $300 over a base iPhone 8 And the world is ending

For Less Than an extra $1 a day you’re getting one of the most advanced communications device available.

While downing your mocha frappucinno If an extra $1 is going to break the bank or your mental stability it’s way past remorse.
You probably should cancel your order....

Shocking...

this is nonsense.
according to KGI Securities Ming Chi Kuo,Samsung has succeeded in implementing finger print sensor under glass display and will be using that in Note 9.
so unproven and annoying Face ID will be un-necessary.
no one car argue that Touch ID is much more convenient and hassle free than face recognition.

to be fair the S8,S8 Plus and Noe 8 all came BEFORE iPhone X and all looked better..

no way Samsung copies a design flaw.they have already perfected the bezel-less display form factor.
if anything,Apple copied the whole bezel-less + OLED display.keep that in mind.

it shouldn't really be this or that.
bezel-less display without stupid notch is what we want.
and it's only matter of time..
remember those ugly antenna bars that were "necessary" of iPhone 6 series? and look how they managed to conceal them easily in 7 series..
Apple always gives away little by little nowadays..perfection is not their policy for some reason.

This happens all the time with everyday people. Many people are riding the bandwagon, and feel pressure to update devices, while their current device has been working fine. Is the X really much of an upgrade to constitute the price difference over the 8? Another user stated how they are tired of getting gimped phones because they don't opt in for the plus models. Maybe this guy actually gave his purchase a really long thought and decided the X is a waste of money for him in his scenario.

Oh, man.. I really regret buying the iPhone X -- anyone want to take it off my hands? Let's say $500?

(Note: this isn't serious, just in case it was hard to tell..)

I read an article about why rich people keep getting richer and the reason is simply because they don’t buy things that don’t “need.” Now a newest smartphone would be at the bottom of a need list. I can afford it. I want it. I like it. The iPhone X is “worth” it to my opinion since Apple likely won’t change the design in maybe 3 or even 4 years. But I certainly don’t need it. My iPhone 6S plus still is very reliable. I’m still open for owning the iPhone X tho. ( pre ordered delivery Nov 3)

Hello, over $1500 after all the expenses related to acquisition. Case, screen protection, insurance, taxes, oh and phone. In addition, there's the family bump down costs, new cases etc.

Different than you, wife and kids fully support this. I gave them a choice, 8 or X, they said X.

I'm having buyers remorse for ordering the 64gb version. Will hopefully try to reserve the 256gb on Friday though.

It’s $7 more per month than what I am now paying for my 7 Plus. That’s like one beer at a bar or two Starbucks per month. Absolutely no remorse.

For something I use daily almost constantly one way or other $7 bucks or 23 cents a day is nothing.

The other phone manufacturers are gonna frantically try to duplicate Face ID in next two years. From seeing it work, it will become the new gold standard. Once again, Apple has worked on a robust system that puts all the other previous facial recognition try’s to shame.

I re-watched the September announcement at Steve Jobs Theater and i’m more phsyched than ever. Saw the previews given to a few people in New York. This is gonna be an awesome computing device.

Got a case and the size will be great compared to the Plus. Much handier with as big a screen. Love the edge to edge screen. Completely agree with one reviewer that said he didn’t even notice the notch after a few minutes watching movie.

As for speed and processor performance, well Apple doing the chip design in house to match the hardware has been leaping ahead of all competition and seems will continue to do so. Using all six cores at same time is so smart. Boggles my mind there are 4.3 Billion transistors on that chip.

Probably the only thing I would like to see done is making the cameras flush with the overall thickness of the device. Never have liked the protruding cameras all the phones now have. Technically may not be feasible. I would accept thicker device with double battery life though.

I said kinda..50%..meaning there is a good 50% chance I like and keep it.
I stayed up,payed for it,reserved it,it’s well within my right to do whatever I want with it.there is a return period for the that reason specifically.
what you say sounds like emotional preaching and makes no sense.
