Anybody having iPhone X buyers remorse?

To answer OP... Buyer's remorse set in, when the iPhone 6 came out. Paid an extra $200, from the 5s. So yes, I have remorse. 6,6s,7,X. But it's a gut feeling that has no basis on logic. This is not a need phone, it's a want phone. I would still be using my Sony Ericsson if I needed a phone. Heck even that phone, the W800 was remorse ridden. I feel remorse buying any technology, because, technically I don't have to. My work provides everything I need, and then some.

Someday, I will be able to sit back and pass on the new iPhone, but it's not today, and maybe not in the next 3 to 4 years.

Lots of remorse there. But I don't spend $2 grand +, annually hunting/fishing either. We all have our shtick.

We all knew the price before we preordered. Based on price alone.....and the fact that the price was clearly provided, why in the world would you have "buyers remorse" for a purchase you haven't even gotten to hold yet? And if I did, I certainly wouldn't admit it.

I live on my phone for my business and in particular the social media component of our brand. It's worth it IMO.

Well as I said the “remorse” or negativity as you called it ,came today after watching those new videos and thinking more about it not when I ordered it.
what I wrote was just 50% of the story,the negative side.
there is another 50% chance than I will actually like and keep it.

I stand by what I said..I write whatever I feel at the time,it’s not that I’m a blind fanboy who approves whatever Apple does.
if you see my signiture,I have quite a few Apple products,and had many more before but I also had Samsung Note phones in between and I never felt iPhones are perfect.
I chose iPhone because of iOS,not its hardware or design.
Mac is where my full loyalty to Apple is.
So if you find it shocking and digged my old posts criticising some aspects of iPhone then that’s your problem!

I said kinda..50%..meaning there is a good 50% chance I like and keep it.
I stayed up,payed for it,reserved it,it’s well within my right to do whatever I want with it.there is a return period for the that reason specifically.

My post was meant as more of a suggestion. I just thought it would be doing a nice thing for someone else as you seem to have deep reservations. I read your post carefully. Apple does have the return policy that people should take advantage of it. It just seems weird that some fans will have to wait when you are likely to return it given the concerns you listed. I'm sorry if I came off too preachy in my post.

Nope. There is nothing wrong with buying things you “want” as long as it’s budgeted out. We work hard and spend the majority of our waking hours at work, so it’s completely ok to treat yourself to your hobbies. Life is short and you need to do things you enjoy, within your personal budget limits of course.

For me, my phone is by far my most used tech device. I have a year old MBP that I plan to keep for at least 4 years (my last laptop was purchased in 2012) and a 3 year old iPad that I don’t plan to replace until I’m forced to. A phone is the device I have with me all te time and use multiple hours a day, so I’m ok with more frequent updates. Plus, it’s not just a phone. It’s a computer that fits in my pocket. Phone calls only account for a small amount of the time I use my iPhones.

Overall, you shouldn’t need justification from people online, coworkers, or friends for your purchasing decisions. Do your research, plan out your finances, make a rational decision and be confident with it. At the end of the day there is a nice return policy if you end up finding the device a waste of money.

Nope. The iPhone X was announced over a month ago. We've had plenty of time to decide whether or not it's the right device. I always do my research before buying anything, and weigh it against my other options. Worst case scenario if it's nothing like what I thought it'd be based on empirical data, there is that generous return policy.

Up until the iPhone X preorder date, everyone thought the iPhone X would be super low supply. That was one of the reasons people gave for the iPhone X having a premium price over the iPhone 8.

To me, it looks like Apple kept using the same phone design for 4 years, holding back new changes, so they can fragment the features into different price points.

Samsung's S models and S+ models each year have the same internals, same ram, same camera. Apple fragments their features (2gb vs 3gb ram, single vs dual camera, OIS camera , vs non OIS camera) into non-plus and plus models, for the purpose of trying to upsell.

That is like comparing the iPhone 6 to the 6s. You only showed a years difference in Samsung phones, vs Apple's same exact design from the 6, 6s, 7, 8. At least Samsung differentiates it's devices each year and doesn't have different hardware between the same models (non plus vs plus models)

Hope you aren't serious? Do you know the differences between the S series and Note series? Hint: it's a bigger difference than making a iPhone and iPhone plus model. The stylus alone is a huge benefit. At least Samsung won't give you a sub-hd, 750p resolution screen in 2017, or in the last several years.

I'll say it again. If you are over extended, and really can't afford this luxury item, then cancel the order. This will give you time to sort things out, and distance yourself from this incredible hype machine. a few weeks will be be a relief. You can always buy it later when your more comfortable about it. Note: We all know what its like to make a mistake like this, and scramble back to the store with the return, and the relief afterwords. Feels great 😀

No I won’t be. The iPhone 8/7/6s/6 design is 3 years old for crying out loud. I’ve had every one of them and just sick of this design and the size of the plus. I’m more than ready for a new design and besides I’m on the iphone upgrade program. On the topic of dropping 1k on a phone, I can see this concern if you pay in cash. But why pay in cash when there are so many no interest financing available now? One is better off putting that money aside on some interest earning account.

Samsung has had the same exact design since the s6.
The s8 just moved the home button back because of the reduced l chin and the forehead.
The s9 is rumored to feature the exact same design with a little less forehead and chin. Oh and maybe move the FPS sensor to a less Hostile position.

Personally i don't care for Samsung or Apple devices, nor do i even care about what device sells more. I don't care what the next guy has in his possessions, nor do sales numbers correlate to a good company. Remember beats headphones? A really crappy product that sold crazy numbers, but still sounded like crap headphones? Prime example right there. And since we're talking about numbers, you realize Android's take up like 85% of the marketshare? That doesn't mean each Android is perfect or the best device ever. Even Wozniak said each iPhone is the same.

if you adjust market share to to devices $800 and up Apple now has over 80% of the smartphone market share. That would only go higher now that the iPhone x has launched.

You can’t tout the power of the stylus if no one wants to buy it. Just Look at BB 10.
