I wish i had the time to qoute some of you people because your arguments against the bold are so ignorant and filled with misinformation. some of you iPhone lovers need to realize that your phone is not perfect and that no phone is. just because you love doesn't it IS the greatest thing in the world and that everyone should have it.

Unless Apple fixes at least half of the bugs and 3g reception problems the Bold will be the one for me. I am the Blackberry and Iphone admin for my company so I will get to do a heavy comparison between the 2 and will make my decision then. Iphone people will not be happy when they compare their 3g iphone that prob on Edge or 1 bar next to a Bold that has 3 to 5 bars 3g. Apple still has a good month or so to get this fixed.
I'll be very curious to read your results -- please do a full writeup. I can tell you that my iPhone 3G reception is as good, or better, than my Tilt. Also, blackberry connect on the Tilt is a joke. I'm interested if actual Blackberries fare better in a side-by-side comparison.

i had a blackberry 8703 on Verizon before I came to AT&T for the iPhone... I had it as a spare for about 8 months and it was alright, I grew to like blackberry more than any previous phone. Once I played with an iPhone though I was sold. I basically have fetch email every 30 minutes, SMS, AIM, Package tracking, EBAY tracking, Facebook, 3G, i mean.. for ME personally it suits me better.

I don't need instantaneous email delivery, and if I did i'de buy mobile me. The UI is what matters most to me, and I've never used a phone that was more intuitive.

That being said, the bold does look nice. For sure a nice phone, and if the iPhone had never released I would probably be all over it. for my needs personally though, the iPhone just works.

Umm no they kept the iPhone name and added 3G. Hence iPhone 3G, I'm sure you crackberry user's can find a crackberry forum somewhere to discuss this.

And how is that different from RIM adding new, minor features to newer models of the BB? Why is Apple's product suddenly "all-new"?

I just don't understand the ignorance in the world sometimes.

i guess my real issue is battery life when you are waya from a charger its not like the blackberry where any bb charger or any moto razr cary friend u can borrow a cord from to charge...i just wish we could switch the battery out and until then its not for those who depend on their phone ... i always have an extra bb battery at the ready

and we need more cool apps like etrade ...banking stuff...ticketmaster app ...that would be cool

I don't know if you have ever used a blackberry before, but the screens always look small in the photos... wait till you get it in your hand. The screen always looks bigger in person, but that's just my experience.

Well the iPhone screen looks bigger in the picture than the BB screen does in the picture, so the iPhone screen will look even bigger in your hand.

The Bold is a damn good phone... I swayed to the 3G iPhone because:
1. iTunes integration for the sake of convenience is huge for me.
2. Bigger screen because one of the main things I use for it is videos.
3. Web browsing is better. The Bold's web browser by all reports is amazing but the simple fact is the ease of use of the multitouch screen is thus far unrivaled (Perhaps when the Thunder comes around things'll be different).

Main plus the Bold has for it is an amazing physical keyboard, which is a HUGE plus in my opinion, but JUST not enough to outweigh the pros of the iPhone.

Also, as for the Bold's screen, although it is smaller than the iPhone, it is the same resolution, and thus the details are crisper because it is smaller, but more importantly in terms of viewing quality and brightness all reports so far are that the Bold's screen is the most brilliant thing ever to be on a mobile device.

I'm Considering the Bold but really want an iPhone

I currently have two Macs and use a BB 8700 and am considering the Bold. An iPhone that I ordered at AT&T just arrived and is waiting for pickup. While I was waiting for the iPhone I was enthusiastically reading the forums here and on Apple.Com and I became very concerned about issues such as 3G reception, dropped calls, battery life, bricked units, and cracked cases.

Although I wanted the original iPhone I passed because I wanted to see if Apple could produce a durable reliable phone. I've been using BB for 5 years and I am really impressed with their build quality. My BB has literally rolled on Manhattan sidewalks numerous times while I was running for buses and cabs. The thing is 2 1/2 years old and looks likes its been to Iraq and back but it works fine. Not sexy but still going strong.

I wish Apple would release a firmware update which hopefully would fix the reception issues that have been documented. Then I would probably pull the trigger and pick mine up.

I have the 3G and have not had any reception problems, speed problems, stability problems or physical problems. Remember they are selling millions of these phones and there are a few people with actual problems and then there are a bunch which are questionable.
