So even though I purchased the high res AG without seeing it, and it's on a airplane right now from China, I went down to our main Apple store to see it in person. Wow, it's simply gorgeous. I loaded up a couple of websites where I knew the font was smaller and just zoomed in on them and it looked just fine. Spoke to the Apple employee and the first thing out of his mouth was, "THEY ARE ALL SOLD OUT" and had a giant grin on his face. I said that's ok, I have one coming to me next week and he was like oh. After he realized he couldn't make a sale out of me, we chatted for a bit. His personal opinion of the high-res was that it's the smartest thing Apple could do for the 15" line. We put the standard res and high-res together, and it just completely solidified my purchase.
Can't wait til next Tues.
My 2 Canadian cents
Glad that you enjoy it but there are other apps than Safari and in some it is not so easy to change the font size. There are some where it's not possible at all. So generally speaking, it does require some tweaking to change the font size.I played with a HR AG screen at the Apple store (still awaiting shipment of the MBP in my sign) and all was select the page in safari and reverse pinch- Voila! It increased the font size that easily! The HR AG screen looks so nice a crisp! I can't wait!![]()
I can't understand how I ever got by without 1680 x 1050 on a 15" MBP.
It gets better everyday. wub.
Spoken like a wise Canadian (oxymoron??) JUST KIDDING!ANYWAY- no need to zoom in my friend.
Select a safari page and reverse pinch (expanding two fingers) and it will scale up the font quickly and easily! Gotta love multitouch!!![]()
Seriously right? When I go back to the 13" MacBook I gave my parents I feel like I'm using the Jitterbug version of a laptop!
i'm having the same issue. just got my i5 mbp with anti-glare (and the accompanying high resolution) and i do NOT like how tiny everything is on my screen. would be nice if i could change the fonts universally, but since that's not an option, i'm not sure what i'm going to do.
i care about anti-glare, and i'd like to be able to read the text on my screen without eye strain. is that so much to ask?
