Wow  in Switzerland I never paid import taxes or VAT for such a small thing as a phone case! For items below a certain threshold, import duties are waived. Where do you live in Europe?

Same thing as Switzerland (not in EU, never was, even though in the heart of continental Europe).

Similar to here. The threshold in the UK for paying import taxes is £130. A Caudabe case falls well under that.

Christ on a bike, is that to mainland Europe? I live in Europe (UK) no longer in the EU though, and my Sheath was £19 delivered straight from Caudabe in early December. Since then Caudabe are selling in the UK from Amazon and other outlets.
Amazon Uk does not ship the caudabe cases to my country (Cyprus) for some reason. I asked them why and didnt get a straight answer.

That's pretty expensive. Do you have to pay import taxes on the official Apple cases, too? I'm sure there are coupon codes you can use for Caudabe either shared in the pinned case thread or by searching online. If not, two things you can try:
1. I think when you first go to their site, they offer a coupon for signing up for their newsletter.
2. If you add the case to your shopping cart and go through the process of buying without actually purchasing, you'll receive a coupon shortly from them in your email reminding you that you left something in your shopping cart and perhaps a coupon will entice you to complete your transaction.
Nah no import taxes on apple cases!! We have apple cases here. We have spigen, esr and many other brands. But unfortunately not caudabe :D

We pay import taxes of 19% on anything above €13 outside EU. But you can get away with that if the sender lets say put on the description that the item its a gift or if it put that is a lower value of €13. Generally when i have a friend send me something from Usa that is expensive i always tell him to put a lower value(price) on the shipping description. 9 out of 10 times they are too stuborn to open the package and check what is in it and they go by the label 😂

I have these cases for my Silver/White 12 Pro and would rank them in this order:

Caudabe Veil Frost
Elago soft clear
Caudabe Veil Black
Burkley Black Pebble

ordered but haven’t received yet:

Bullstrap Bourbon
Bullstrap Ocean
Apple Black Leather Wallet

Yeah I remember sending a package to my sister who lives in Germany and I was stupid enough to mention the value (actually not so stupid, I wanted the content to be insured), and she had to pay 19% taxes ...!

Caudabe cases are sold in the Netherlands, but their screen protectors are harder to find. Since I don't want to mix up brands, I buy from Caudabe US directly. It may take a little longer but I've never paid import taxes / VAT. Last time I ordered, shipping was free.

Here's my Lucid Clear collection:

I've always been a big fan Lucid Clear which is a great case, I've had it on my previous phones. But with the years my hands have become very dry, which means this case is now incredibly slippery. Sadly, I'm going to sell it. I'll stick to Apple cases and of course my Navy Sheath which is amazing.

Received my navy Sheath and it’s super snug! It feels even more snug than my black revised Sheath. It’s like black was the color they struggled with the most for fitment not sure why. Anyway quite happy with the Navy, it’s a nice switch up from black but still muted as I don’t care for bright cases.

Got my Ocean Blue Sheath. The lip feels slightly wider and taller than my black version 1 case. The power and volume buttons do stick out now compared to the flush ones of my black one. My ESR screen protectors didn't work with my black case so doubt they would with my Ocean Blue case. The Ocean Blue color is the perfect blue for me. Photos of it makes it come out lighter than it is.

Is the Apple leather still in your rotation? I still switch between the black Sheath and black Apple leather, but I've been using the Apple leather more and more lately (it feels better when it's resting on my pinky finger).
I'm with you on bright cases. I used to really like bright cases when I was younger, but now it's just black or dark cases for me.
The green iPhone 5c was the first iPhone that made me want to switch to an iPhone. To this day, I still think that green looks amazing.
A lot of bright cases look great (Apple silicone), but I would never buy them.

I'm with you guys on that. Used to love bright cases and while I still think they're eye candy, when I'm holding my iPhone in one of those I don't fancy them any more. My preferred cases are now all dark. Phone looks more sleek, less bulky in a darker case, even though this is of course just a visual perception.

The Apple Leather case isn’t heavy in my rotation as I much prefer the low maintenance of the Sheath. The leather for me is more of an occasional case to dress the phone up but on the regular the Sheaths are my go tos. I just hate how I always need to make sure my hands are completely dry to handle the leather case and I also feel like if my hands are dirty the germs retain more on the leather and it is harder to clean. Maybe just my OCD. The sheath I simply take it off run it under hot water, use a cleaning cloth or soft toothbrush with dish washing soap and it’s clean and brand new again. I’m a personal trainer and have a more active lifestyle and handle things quite often and constantly try to keep up with my hygiene. Even though I just recovered from COVID but it wasn’t a hygiene issue, got it from one of my clients but that’s another story! The leather case just doesn’t completely match with my lifestyle that’s all but I do love it, don’t get me wrong.

I completely agree darker cases just look sleeker and to me are more of a distraction than eye candy. I like seeing them on other people’s phones but I always think it’s not for me though.

Me, too. That’s why I enjoy looking at the pictures posted in the pinned case thread up at the top. However, although I prefer everything to be in black (even my current car is black with tinted windows), if I were to ever win the lottery, I’m getting a Porsche, and I’m 100% getting it in Miami Blue.

Nice! All I used to get were black cars I wouldn’t even consider other colors. My current car is white, I do like white cars I kind of have a thing for Panda effect on cars, white with black accents. If you win the lottery and get that Miami Blue Porsche post it on here even though it’d be totally off topic from this thread

Its nice seeing a blue border around my screen rather than black. Plus having the graphite phone the blue gives it some contrast around the camera bump.

Agreed the Navy goes really well with the Graphite. I do agree it’s quite refreshing to see another color other than Black. What I like about Navy is that it is still quite a muted color so it works for me. I think most black case lovers such as myself would like Navy. The other color I might eventually cave for in the Sheath line up is Gray. My friend has the Ocean Blue and Electric Blue on his Pacific Blue and that Ocean Blue is a perfect match to the Pacific Blue it looks awesome! But neither of those colors are for me.

Do the buttons on the Sheath break in with use? The ones on mine are very mushy. It’s a perfect fit, so I’m guessing I have the “revised” one?

You can always do the “button mod” by using a razor blade to make a slit down one side of each button. Makes them much more clicky.

Heh heh kind of same here! I used to own a MINI convertible in white silver (that's pearl white with a silvery underline) with a dark blue (aka "jeans") top. I had custom stripes and mirror caps fitted in the same dark blue shade. She was so dashing and elegant at the same time 😍.

You've peaked my curiosity, sounds like a sweet combination of colors. Any photos of the MINI?

I got an ESR screen protector and am planning to get the OB sheath. How is that working out for you?
