For the graphite iPhone 12 pro, would you suggest the black or grey colour option on the sheath?

Also is the back of the synthesis model slippery?

I actually disagree I own both an Apple leather case and a sheath case and the sheath is slimmer not by much but definitely slimmer. When I wear the apple leather case on my phone I feel a slight bulk over the Sheath. But hey not trying to create a dispute over this. I love both my apple leather and sheath. They’re always my 2 go to cases and both are definitely slim cases.

The Sheath case is easily thinner than the Apple leather case. And the Apple leather case feels like a bar of soap to me. It’s SO slippery. Between the two, I’d choose the Sheath hands down. When you factor in the price difference, it’s an even bigger no brainer.

I bought a Sheath for my iPhone 12 mini in grey, received it yesterday and unfortunately it doesn't fit well, and still doesn't hug the sides in the middle. Contacted support, I guess ill see what they say Monday.

It sounds like people with the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max models are getting perfect revised ones so I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a similar fix for the 12 mini. Their customer service has always been top notch in my experience.

Can’t beat a black Sheath, but that’s just my preference.

Haven’t had the Synthesis in years so can’t comment on that. Hard to imagine that it would have better grip than the Sheath though.

Has anyone in this thread actually had Caudabe ship them their replacement Sheath for their 12 Pro Max yet? If so, did you have to contact them to get them to send it?

The original Sheath I bought about 2 weeks before my launch day 12 PM arrived has the dreaded ill-fit issue. I contacted them and the CS person I emailed told me about them retooling the case and that they’d send the new one in a couple of weeks. I then contacted them about a week after that and she said they’d send it when the new ones arrived and I didn’t have to do anything.

This upcoming week marks the 2 weeks they told me it would be when the newly redesigned cases would arrive, but I’ve seen some folks say they’ve already received them. So my question is, did you have to contact them to get them to ship or did they send it out to you without you doing anything?

They contacted me on Friday and they said the revised versions for the 12 Pro Max are done. They’re actually shipping the revised version out to me now. So we originally communicated and they contacted me back on their own.

Thanks. I guess I’ll give them a few more days to see if they contact me on their own then. Good to hear the revised versions are coming into stock now.

I have both, the black apple leather is not slippery even a tad sticky, but is a touch bigger than the sheath.

Now I understand why Apple’s cases don’t wrap around the stainless steel frame in the front. Just a note to everyone. After putting on and removing the sheath case or any case that wraps around the stainless steel frame in the front for that matter, the stainless steel will definitely scratch. I go back and forth between the sheath and leather and have noticed scratches when wearing the Apple case that shows off the stainless steel in the front.

Which color do you have? I heard only the silver one scratches easily (but they can be removed just as easily) while the other colors have a PVD coating on them.

That stinks. There must be lint from your pocket causing it because there’s no way that the case, itself, would scratch the phone.

Either way, I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for that because I also have the Apple leather case and Sheath.

Yes look out for it. It’s definitely not lint I think it’s the friction when putting the case on and off since it’s so fitted.

Thanks for bringing attention to this. I ordered the graphite because my space gray XS Max is still in perfect condition despite the number of cases I switched on and off of it. I was hoping the 12 Pro Max had the same durability, but I guess not. Scratches appearing on the sides of my phone was a concern of mine, but I think I'm going to stick with just the Caudabe Sheath for the time being. I was considering a black Apple leather, but I think Apple might either ignore the issue of phones popping out of the corners of their cases or if they do eventually address it, the honeymoon phase will be over for me.

It is literally the front of the stainless steel frame the sides are fine. I think with the squared design the way these snug cases go on and off the phone makes them more prone to scratching then the old rounded off edges. I do love my apple leather case. It feel secure in the case but I do understand your concern as it does not wrap around the phone and you can still see the front stainless steel edges which makes it definitely less secure.

Just got notice that my replacement Sheath for the 12 Pro Max has shipped. Hopefully the fit issues will be resolved this time around.

Updated Caudabe Sheath in Navy Blue. Perfect cutouts and it is grippy. Say bye to finger prints!
