Got my Sheath.

It's the first time I have had one since my iPhone 7 and I don't like it. It's so grainy compared to how they used to be, almost borderline rough? The sides don't find snug on the phone either; the Apple leather case fit a lot better. £28.00 for these cases used to be well worth it, not anymore IMO.

Also it's quite a bit chunkier than the leather case.

So it's going back.
So is the Apple leather case actually thinner than the Caudabe Sheath?

Got the revised 12 Pro Sheath case today. Fit is better and the buttons are very nice now. Click almost as well as an Apple case. Only thing I noticed is the camera cut out is slightly off. The lower edge is closer to the bottom lens than the upper edge. Still seems to lay flat against the back of the phone though.

Just got my revised sheath, as well. The fit is now close to perfect, as usual for the sheath. Buttons are also improved.

I notice what the previous poster said. The camera cut out is the slightest bit uneven, but it’s barely noticeable. I wouldn’t even think of returning it for such a tiny thing. I’m not sure I would have ever even thought about it, if it weren’t for someone mentioning it.

Yeah it’s negligible and no big deal. I just have an eye for stuff like that.

I have a Sea Green Sheath coming tomorrow for my Pro Max. I’m excited to try a different color besides black. All my cases through the years have been black.

Does anyone else's Sheath iPhone Pro Max have extremely flush buttons? They seem difficult to press since they are so flush and flat with the case.

This is one of things that is supposed to be corrected with the revised cases.

Yeah, I just got a second 12 Pro Sheath in the mail today and it's perfect. Amazing fit and finish. This was not a replacement, as the first one I got many weeks ago was fine too (which I passed on to my brother). But, I did compare the two and noticed a slight difference in button feel. The buttons on the new ones are raised higher just a pinch and they feel more clicky to me. I was fine with the buttons on my first one, but the buttons on the new one are a tiny bit nicer.

Good to know. I’m still waiting on my replacement.

anyone have pics of the revision vs the older one?

It would be hard to capture the differences in a picture. You might see a very slight difference in that you can see some small bits of the metal frame on the edges of the first version. In the revised version, you cannot see any metal.

so what changes are being made?

Like already said got mine a few weeks ago and it fits perfect without my ESR screen protector but with that on the sides bulge out a little bit. Are they being made more case friendly if your screen protector is edge to edge?
I was planning on getting a sheath but I’m currently using an ESR screen protector. Guess I’ll pass for now.

I just inquired about getting a revised Sheath case and I was told that they weren't going to be ready for another week or so. I wonder if they're making a second revision to fix the uneven camera cutout that was mentioned a few posts above.

Weird. Surly they didn’t mess up twice? That would not be good for a small company.

Received mine yesterday for my 12 Pro Max (Black Sheath) and sides and top are not snug exposing the metal sides. I kept pushing it in to try to have it conform but keeps pulling back. I’ve been a Sheath fan for a long time now and always get it every time I upgrade my phone and this is the first time that it is not an A+ fit. The support team mentioned that they’ll have a revised version in about a week. I will just wait for that and hoping they get it right this time, I’m pretty sure they will. Other than that I absolutely love the case and the way it feels on the phone and how it doesn’t bulk up the phone which is the case every year. I am currently back to my Apple silicone case and it is definitely bulkier than the sheath and I actually prefer the feel of the sheath’s texture vs Apple’s smooth silicone. I’ll write an update when I receive my next one in about a week or so. I’ve been lurking this thread and thought it wouldn’t have happened to me as I had nothing but confidence in Caudabe guess this year is definitely a tough one for them but once they get it right I’m sure it’ll be A+ from there on.

That’s disappointing that they’re still shipping out defective cases. I would have thought they pulled all of them. I’m much happier with the fit of my replacement sheath for my 12 Pro. Hopefully they’ll get you a proper fitting one soon. My replacement fits as well as the all the other sheaths that I’ve had.

I also inquired about the revised batch but was told it was not ready yet. They said the replacement will auto ship once ready.

For those that have the 12/12Pro does the box the case came in just say For iPhone 2020 6.1”? Curious if maybe the camera cut out being slightly off is from them having slightly different cases for each model. I have the 12 Pro but my box says that on it. I’m guessing they only made one case for both, but I am kinda curious.

If you don’t mind leather the apple leather cases are thinner than the silicone cases. It’s honestly almost as thin as the sheath! When I put them side by side the apple leather is barely thicker. I’m actually loving it.

I plan on alternating the apple leather with the sheathafter I receive the revised version.

So question for you guys with the Sheath. Are the magnets on the phone itself strong enough to hold the phone through the Sheath to a magnetic car holder? I ordered a MagSafe car holder/charger. Currently I have the Apple silicone case on my phone which I know will work as they showed how strong the magnets were in the video.
Just curious if anyone here has experience with this.

Too funny as I’ve not been a big fan of the MagSafe but my old car magnetic holder doesn’t work with my new phone. And the ones that I’ve looked at do both - hold and charge. I’ll let you all know how well it works once I receive it.

Nice, what color leather did you opt for?

I got the California Poppy to go with my PB max. It looks great.

Here are a couple comparison pics. You can see they are almost the same in thickness!

Mine is exactly the same. It looks like they came up a bit short on the depth of the case which is causing the sides and top to pull back a bit and for the buttons to not match up quite right. The feel of the case is great though as you mentioned. I also appreciate that they aren't making everyone ship back their defective cases. Truly top tier customer service.
