my whites were looking a little yellow, iread about turning off True Tone, which I did and its so much better.. anyone have thoughts on this?

I tried to turn off True Tone but find the colour correction is not that drastic as Night Shift. So I leave it on.

Turned it off the first week I had my iPhone X, then turned it back on again and I’ve stuck with it ever since.

It's strange: On the X True Tone is significantly more yellowish than on either my 8 or iPad Pro.

At first I didn't like it on the X but have gone back to it and now scarcely notice it.

At first I hated true tone and turned it off. But I found a fix in one of the threads here and turned it back on.
Here is what I did. Turn on True Tone -then go to Settings-General-Accessibility-Display Accommodations-Color Filters. (Or from setting go to your search bar and type display Acommodtions-Color Filters.)
Turn on Color Filters and chose Color Tint. Then use the sliders to adjust the screen to your preference. Here is my setup. Hope it helps 🙂

Had not really thought about it, so I went in to take a look on iPhone X
Tested it briefly, and I prefer it to be ON

Turned it off, prefer cooler colors. OLED has a warmer tint than the LCD on my 6+, but not seeing it side by side it doesn't bother me.

I was almost sure I wouldn't like it, but I leave it on always and I actually miss it not being on any of my other devices.

Hello
Does it influences in some way in the battery performance?
May be more battery usage if it is on or off?

Thanks.

I thought I would dislike True Tone but it turned out to be the exact opposite.

It’s on point. When I shut it off the screen is way too bright, too white.

While viewing web pages my True Tone displays white, but correctly.

Photos look better, movies look better. Just about everything looks better for me when True Tone is on.

Nah I love True Tone. I bought into this feature when I was holding a white peice of paper and noticed the shift in the paper’s whiteness when I got my 8 Plus. Ever since then I was like, wow that’s soooo cool. I love this feature. Like right now it’s dark in my house and the white tiles look different under the evening light bulbs. Same way the screen whiteness shifts. So neat!

Yeah True Tone is amazing...just keep it on and it grows on you. When I turn it off on my 8 Plus, everything looks so blue and “artificial.” I look at older iPhone screens now and instantly realize what a neat feature True Tone is.
