Wow, I don't.

I'm not the person who goes running when I see a bug on the floor, but I gotta admit that I got a little weak seeing that video. Being so close to such big insects ...

Anyways, can you post a video of you handling them? I wouldn't have the courage to touch one, let alone know how to hold it properly.
It's hard to hold the camera with one hand and a mantis in another. But there are plenty of videos of people holding them on YouTube.

I hold most of them every day. They really like it.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:(

I know. She's getting old though. Her vision is bad, she's started "missing" her litter box (pees in front of it sometimes for no apparent reason), she can't jump up on the bed anymore, the list goes on. Yesterday, she could not even jump up on the couch, I had to help her up. She's about 16-17, so she's had a really long life.

We had a snow leopard cat that died this year at 20. I loved him so much. Started to display the same symptoms that you mentioned. :(

To be honest it already takes some effort to look at the pictures for me...yeah, I'm a sissy I know; but I wonder though how you know / recognize that they like being held?

Because they don't pinch you?:p Honest question though.

Let me start off by saying some of those are disgusting, which is by default kind of cool.

Not sure if you have ever seen Kung Fu Panda, but I can guess who your favorite of the "Furious Five".

At one time I had 3 cats, they have all passed on now. They were put down at 17 years of age. Based on my experience you don't want have elderly cats without room with with a hard floor, no carpet unless you don't mind it being ruined and ur house smelling like cat urine. We had an unfinished basement where they spent their evenings when they were no longer reliable to use the litter box. :( Cats are great pets through.

If you put your hand in there, they will climb on it and look you in the face. Then they act peaceful and start grooming themselves. It's really cute.

Does it come in white too? :p

Their bodies are white when they are adults. Black only helps them look like ants when they are little. Lots of creatures don't like to eat ants as much as other insects.

Never seen it. Sorry.

Thanks for posting. I probably won't get any but it's cool to learn about this kind of stuff.

Yay!

Message me and I'll send you some cheap. Should have availability in 1-2 months of lots of nymphs.

Ah thank you! That'd be cool.

Do they get harmed during postage, or are they fine with it?

Which types will you have? I'll do a bit of research in the mean time :)

I've just been on a geology field trip to South West France for 10 days and there were loads of them there. They look so pretty haha

I know baby, it sucks. :(

I have wood floors, so it's not much of an issue. I'm gonna have to make the decision at some point soon though.

Exciting! Are there any special requirements for either of those types? Since it's my first mantis, I'd like one that's not too difficult to look after...

Haha I'm quite excited now ^.^
