No, you posted to ask "Anyone one else notice this on the Apple website about the Macbook's description?"

You asked for our opinion, we gave you our opinion, but you found instead of taking it in, to correct the grammatical mistakes in our opinion.

What in the world are you talking about? I am referencing Apple's current websites that describe the current white unibody Macbook. I have included the links. Follow them."

That post just makes people think you are ignorant, in fact, what in the world are YOU talking about?

LOL- that was because they are NOT talking about the 2008 unibody aluminum Macbook.

If you look at the environmental details for the MacBook, it clearly says "Arsenic-free display glass", meaning the glass in the display panel

If you look at the environmental details for the MacBook Pro, it clearly says "Arsenic-free display glass", meaning the glass in the display panel, and also says "Highly recyclable aluminium and glass enclosure", meaning the glass in front of the display panel

There is nothing in the description on the MacBook page that should make you assume that there is glass in front of the MacBook display, and the fact that they clearly mention the glass enclosure on the MacBook Pro page (both on this environmental page and in the general description) and don't on the MacBook page makes it very clear that there is no glass in front of the screen of the MacBook

Just because you seem to interpret the 360 view as depicting glass doesn't mean that it does to other people, or that it was Apple's intention to mislead in any way at all

You're engaged in the argument, boy. I did not say my post was trivial. "Trivial" was in quotes to ask you why you'd be commenting on something you and others are viewing as trivial. This is not about 2009- it is the current situation. I heard about the lawsuit a guy is bringing about Apple over it's description of iPhone 4's "engineered glass" and it sparked my memory. I went to the Apple website and - yup - the description and image are just as it was in 2009 for the Macbook. So, I posted the thread to see if anyone's noticed. People post things on here about issues much farther in the past than this thread. Even so, there are no regulations about the age of something being referenced in a post.
Few, if any at all, posts abouts things they noticed in 2009. Girlfriend, you need to just relax, who cares if people notice what you notice? It seems like you're just incapable of understanding what people are writing. It's ok.

BTW in 2005 I was driving and I saw a deer jump out in front of a volvo, the volvo hit the deer and did extensive damage and the car was totaled. Volvos were supposed to be indestructible. Did anyone notice on the Volvo site?

The iPhone 4 glass issue is actually an issue, it is happening to thousands of people, this however... just you.

Glad you think so. Have a nice day! :)

You should call Apple about it. It's 2011, maybe they'll understand you now ... or you'll just come off as confused as you did in 2009.

Hm, it seems you care that I care if people notice what I notice. Why is that? Why are you continuing with this? Didn't you insist that you weren't "involved" in the argument or discussion? The comparison to the Volvo shows a very low level of reading comprehension as I have referenced specific words and images that back up my claim. Description of being "made of" glass should = "made of" glass. Depiction of a glass panel should = a glass panel.

Calm down, folks.

If it helps, I happen to be a lawyer, and I would suggest that Apple would incur no liability for the advertising on the website. The wording is sufficiently clear, and it is certainly not a false statement.

This isn't legal advice, of course; but my professional opinion, OP, is that you're getting your knickers in a twist over nothing.

Apple's own employees were more confused than me.

Seems you are still "engaged" in the argument 5-some comments down the line, doesn't it?

I like how you overlook the false 360-degree depiction. Funny thing is, I am a lawyer myself, so nice of you to drop by!

I did not insist I wasn't involved but if you knew me, you'd know there is a plan here. I think I'm getting close too.
You're just wrong though, it's ok girlfriend.
As for the Volvo story, sarcasm meet aplqna ... ;) I'm sorry this is too difficult for you to understand.

Yup, and you seem to think that by Apple saying "display is made of arsenic free glass" is misleading, but really, its true, the display contains glass, therefore is true, and does not at all depict a glass panel over the LCD.

Ok, you want peoples opinion, but turn them away by saying nice of you to drop by, if you are a lawyer, then if its such a misleading issue, and just so, so incorrect, then, like I said, take it up with Apple, because ypu dont seem to want our opinion.

Ok, thanks counsel. Case closed!

Now, everyone go for a brewski or something.

Your plan is probably to try and get me banned by calling someone a name or something else. Not happening. Even if it is, it wouldn't be something that makes me upset and ruin my entire month like it would be for some people here.

Nah I have no plan to get you banned. I have no such power.
I'm sorry it is difficult for you to be so wrong.

1) No, I was providing more details to show that there is no apparent deception intended on the part of Apple

2) I didn't claim to speak for everyone else, but you did ask for everyone's opinion in your thread title, so I was offering mine, and mine alone.

Its not saying its fully made of glass. Part is made of glass, most from plastic. And it doesnt even mention edge-to-edge glass anywhere. But if u want go ahead and sue them, you probably have a chance similar to 10% to win.

CINEMA DISPLAY is the name of the unit as a whole. Take a look.

so are you going to complain to them now bc you're confused bc you thought the MacBook was a BOOK but it's not? LOL

...and until the new macbook airs were released, in the german apple online store it said, under the compare tab of the macbook, that it had ddr2 (two) memory and a geforce 9400m. get over it, they make mistakes aswell. U know that its not glass, so u probs wont buy one thinking it is. and other people have probably tried one somewhere before they buy one, so they wont be fussed about it either.

If it isn't that big of a deal, there wouldn't be multiple people on top of every comment I make in defense against the argument. If you don't like my thread, you can get over that.

It's not a big deal. What is your point?
We have already established what Apple has put on their website.
We also established that the glass may or may not be inside the LCD and we have also established that it might have been left on from the unibody MacBooks. Quite frankly, you aren't an engineer for Apple. I'm also not saying that I am either, but I'm not the one who is b****ing about it. What else are you trying to tell us that is meaningful?
The last many posts have not even related to the topic at all, and its just been arguing. Stop being full of yourself, and move on; unless you have something important to contribute. Try finding yourself a hobby to occupy your time, rather than complaining about these silly things.
This thread reminds me of a warning label on a chain saw "Do not attempt to stop chain with hands".

We get it.

Ooooh. I think Apple took notice of the OP's point. The 360 degree view is no longer active on Apple's website. Good move. You may have won one of the arguments and the problem is in the fix! Thank goodness for your resilience.

However....the macbook pro display description is pretty clear, when compared to the macbook, of how different the screens are:

"The ultrathin, seamless glass enclosure makes the display strong and durable."
