Everyone knows that the Macbook's display is NOT made of glass, but rather, plastic. The edge-to-edge glass was one of the reasons I went Pro.

I googled a bit, and found this:

They are glass. It is a common misconception that these substrates are plastic because they don't feel like traditional glass. They are very thin very strong glass made by a special forming technique for high optical and surface purity. All LCD screens are glass for mechanical and optical properties. Another reason plastics are not used is the organics commonly used in plastics tend to react with the silicon causing device failure. It's also much harder to make a plastic with the surface purity required.

Well, who would have thought that!
