Thumbnails of these YouTubers pretending to have the iPhone in their hands, it’s so shady and scummy, and pathetic by tricking people that they have a product they don’t actually have. They never had an actual hands on 🙄 it makes it difficult to find an actual hands on video, even though Good Morning America appears to be the only ones first to it

so ****ing annoying

That kind of summarizes the value these people bring to the table - zero. Question is this, what’s more idiotic, folks not realizing they got sold hot air or the ones who produce it?
The ones who produce it obviously. They pollute my search results. People who know what they’re looking for will know immediately by the thumbnail or playing the first 5 secs of the video that they have been misled.

EverythingApplePro started this terrible trend of photoshopping phones he didnt actually have in his hands for his youtube thumbnails and they all just took that misleading concept and inserted into their real videos. I usually dont follow these random tubers but if you just see his video list - majority of the thumbnails has his fake hands on fake cutout phones. Whats wrong with us, why do we give them clicks (and ad revenue).

Actually they're quite smart. They pollute as in show up in your search results and when you click on the video... Boom $$$$$$$$$ for them 😂

When on YouTube, I don’t go looking for idiots and clickbait tubers who are looking to increase revenue. All the people you listed fail into that bottom feeder tier I stay away from. It is reality tv for the stupid.
Me too for the most part. But trying to find authentic hands-on videos is now difficult because it’s polluted with these ******s, and it doesn’t help that the YouTube app only shows two gigantic thumbnails at a time in a search result, making scrolling a lot more frustrating

Awhile ago I got tired of rewarding these buttholes with ad revenue so now I watch those type of videos through safari with adguard installed to block all ads.

For YouTube creators that are genuine and don’t falsely have fake thumbnails that show them having an iPhone 12... I’ll watch through the YouTube app so they get the ad revenue for good behavior and I’ll even click the ads to help their channel 🙂

Totally Agree... but good on them for making money. I think Apple needs to figure out a better way for veteran tech reviewers to get their hands on the device before pre-orders begin. I had a tough time deciding on the colour of phone I wanted. Sometimes you need real life lighting and video context to get a clear idea of what they actually look like. And to be honest the AR view just doesn't cut it (no way to switch between colours and it's kind of (AR)tificial.

You are praising them because they deserve that money by misleading people?

To be fair the top left one is holding up the physical mockups that were floating around.

You eventually learn to only click on reputable reviewers. Usually those who have been invited by Apple to briefings or sent them loaners to review.

It’s just a handful, the rest are wannabes who have to resort to gimmicks and goofy facial expressions to grab attention. Nevertheless some make a decent living through subscribers and views.

Just to name a few that are tight with Apple:
Jonathan Morris
Rene Ritchie
Marques Brownlee
CNet
The Verge
iJustine
Joanna Stern

Agree. can’t stand the click bait thumbnails, I don’t understand how making a stupid facial expression translates into more clicks. But apparently it does since more and more people are doing it, even reviewers that I never considered the click bait type are doing it.
