And that’s the whole point on why the resort to tactics that earn them the most click and views. It’s their bread and butter, it’s how they earn their living. Why would they do something that will earn them less clicks?

I do YouTube videos on and off and it’s not easy as it takes a lot of time to come up with the content, record, edit etc so it’s a full time job cranking out videos the way iJustine or Marques do.

IMO, using tactics to gain views is short-sighted. You can fool me once, but you'll be sure I won't subscribe or re-visit any future videos.

You build a channel with consistent quality content. This means actual analysis and reviewing a product fully. It also means having a point-of-view with some rationale backing up your opinions.

However, I agree it does take time to write, shoot and edit videos. It's a full-time gig for some.

When it comes to watching genuine hands-on iPhone 12 videos, I don’t really care who it comes from. Doesn’t mean I watch them on a regular basis or that I’m subscribed. I just wanna see the damn phone!!!!!

Even when the phones are released there will be dozens of videos that will all say the exact same thing. The usual suspects will present their reviews on top of a white desk while they ohhh and ahh and read off generic facts and benchmarks. Everything apple pro is not a pro, not even close. The same goes for Marques and Justine. They are three of the worst reviewers on YouTube. I’ll wait for my usual favorites such as The Verge, CNET, and Engadget. Dieter makes great reviews in his little apartment with minimal equipment all while having more charm than the three other reviewers I mentioned combined. That’s what separates Youtubers from professionals.

Agreed. Currently I find Dieter the most thoughtful and likeable reviewer. Marques is meh, but good on him on making a great living. I just find his presentation style less engaging than Dieter's. As for iJustine...definitely not my cup of tea.

what I woke up to this morning, unsubscribed. Douche bags of the day. Not even sure why I was subscribed in the first place lol

... does anyone know when the Apple “review embargo” ends? I’d like to see reviews ASAP.

Unbox Therapy, EverythingApplePro, AppleInsider, ZONEofTECH, XEETECHCARE, GizmoSlip, Jonathan Morrison, Linus Tech Tips, Jon Rettinger, Krystal Lora, UrAvgConsumer, etc all scumbags

Thumbnails of these YouTubers pretending to have the iPhone in their hands, it’s so shady and scummy, and pathetic by tricking people that they have a product they don’t actually have. They never had an actual hands on it makes it difficult to find an actual hands on video, even though Good Morning America appears to be the only ones first to it

so ****ing annoyingView attachment 967651View attachment 967996

It is slightly ‘misleading’. But, I do find it funny and there is a little irony, between your username and venom in this topic.

Alas, I get it

Well, I tend to avoid these guys anyway. Now you know why. ;)
That's why it's funny when some posters here use any of these youtubers video for some sort of validation.

MKBHD is like the rare gem nowadays.

MKBHD is more critical about Apple than others. He is biased and I think he did mention he kinda is.

She’s just ridiculous but then again I’m a grown up. Teenagers probably think she is very knowledgeable and that that faked excitement is for real and for good reason.
I’m not sure she’s faking. She drinks a lot of coffee! I enjoy her and her sister putting phones through their paces.

I like how SuperSaf was one of the first reviewers to let us actually hear how the audio sounds on the videos that phones record. Reviewers used to dub in music over video samples so we couldn’t hear how crappy iPhone audio actually was compared to that from a Samsung or LG phone recording in full rich stereo sound. It was right around the time all the other reviewers starting adopting Saf’s review style that iPhone got the capability to record in stereo audio.

I don’t give any of these losers clicks. All the same crap. Especially everything Apple pro. That douchenozzle has purposely renamed his old videos to current trending searches to cash in. He is so misleading. So is the other douchebag “don’t buy apple” can’t remember his name. Bottom right corner. Always has a hat on and wearing black or grey.

To be fair, EverythingApplePro has had some info about upcoming iPhone features before others and has been cited by macrumors and 9to5Mac. Most recently, I think he was first to reveal the new magnet ring in the iPhone 12 models. Also MKBHD is pretty unbiased with reviews and has had some pretty top-tier guests on his show.

YouTube tech videos are really getting insanely annoying lately. There's one guy that always says here first look at this new phone, weeks before it's even officially released, and then you watch the video, and he never actually has the real phone. Clickbait.

Now the iPhone 12, I don't think any YouTuber actually has one in their hands yet, yet there's tons of videos talking about it's speed and how smooth it is, and the new A14.

Then you have the Apple butt lickers, with their love fest Apple can do no wrong, which are vomit inducing to watch, like iJustine and Renee Ritchie, those two are such Apple tools, and [H]ardcore biased towards Apple, it's useless to even click on one of their dumb videos.

Thats part of what makes him the most trustworthy. He’s clearly a fan of Tech more than he is a fan of any brand. And he uses his insider status responsibly because he doesnt hype (Justine) or act like an apologist (Rene Ritchie). He just gives good info and opinions worth considering.

Being biased doesn’t make you trustworthy. smh 🙄 he gotten facts wrong about Apple products in the past, I only watch him cuz he gets products early.

Actually I don’t give a **** about anyone’s opinions and reviews, I just get the product and whether I personally like it or not is the deciding factor whether I should return it or not.

lol I agree with this to a certain extent. Yes they are Apple fans and they are definitely biased towards Apple but that’s what they like and they make a living on their passion about them and get to play with tech at the same time. That kind of success doesn’t happen overnight. Sure it seems really biased and it sometimes seems like Justine can’t say a negative thing about Apple, but she’s a hardcore fan. If you want an unbiased review, you can always read a spec sheet. Or, wait a few weeks or a month for someone who’s actually had the device for some time to do a true honest review.

Do I get annoyed by their videos sometimes? Absolutely. Stop video, click dislike if i really dislike it, and move on.

Unfortunately, especially kids are weak when it comes to being manipulated by YouTubers. They will take anything being said for granted.

We don’t need YouTubers/reviewers to make our purchases feel justified, or have these people make the decision for us, or have them think for me.

I just watch reviews for fun cuz I’m a tech enthusiast.

Dieter Bohn was like “wait until our review before you make your purchase” he just want your views and clicks. Don’t wait, don’t waste time. Just experience it for yourself.
