Mine just activated, too.
Now let's get the $30 activation fee removed!

I will be connecting with Verizon to request the $30 fee removal. I have had to deal with their bs customer service and lack of answers. I realize it's a day delay in activating... but they were extremely unprofessional to me when i called or chatted with them.

This will be my first LTE watch. There's an activation fee for a WATCH? I tried to get the activation fee removed on my iPad in February 2020 but they wouldn't budge. Kinda offensive to me when I buy something on my own and do all the work to add it to the plan. <shrug>

(Getting watch on Monday).

Yea, Verizon is very staunch about their petty fees.

Was able to do it right from the app. On hold with them now to remove the ridiculous fee. 20 minutes and counting.

Edit: was able to successfully have the ridiculous activation fee of $40 waived.

If you guys have issues with your IMEI call Verizon and ask for a Tier 2 rep, then have them submit a ticket, it took about 20 hours for them to enter it in, on a weekend that’s pretty good, they sent me a text too when the imei was entered in so I could activate it, never got a fee either.

I ended up returning mine and just doing GPS only. I have another cellular one on the way...depending on my mood, that will probably will be returned...

I'm starting to question if it's worth paying the extra $100 and an additional $10 a month.

same here. Called yesterday around 1pm for both our watches (see earlier posts) and today around noon I was able to get cellular working on the watch. Inconvenient, yes, but resolved quickly and even got a call back from the tier 2 rep saying it was fixed. I never got that customer service
From AT&T (why I went to Verizon).

Hello All

Call tech support - Verizon Tech Support not Tech Coach support

Let the rep know you need your imei manually added to their system. They will fill out a form which takes 24 hours to process and then you can add the AW

My imei request was completed today - it took 24 hours. I activated mine 1 hour ago

I have an open ticket to have my IMEI manually added (called on Friday) but still having issues. Waiting until Monday to give them a call. Hopefully they get it together by then.

I will NOT pay an activation fee....I will use my new watch like I've always used my Series 2 Apple Watch....I always carry my phone anyway...I can't imagine using my phone via watch only...just not worth it to me...

Really want to activate my watch, but I don't see the cellular connectivity being worth $10 a month. Seems excessive.

I felt the same way at first, but I have used my Series 4 on any number of occasions without the phone. I came up lame out on a run miles from home and was able to call my wife and have her come get me. I do not run with the phone as I carry a playlist and podcasts on my watch paired to my bluetooth headphones.

My wife was the one to insist I get the cellular watch for emergencies when I go running - she was spot on. It also is great when I am outside and get a call or leave my phone in the Jeep when I go in a store.

Was not excited about the $10 and back then it was a $30 activation fee that I could not get around no matter how much I begged. My series 6 just arrived and I can see that at $40 it will be another conversation. Perhaps I should threaten to move my service and see where that goes.

Hopefully I will not have the IMEI issues....

a $40 activation fee for something automatic in Verizon's systems is ducking criminal.
