So they were able to get mine set up via web chat HOWEVER, the watch now isn’t seen by the phone and can’t pair to it? Not sure which company I should even contact or if I should just change it and unpair and repair it? Or which option I should select when unpairing: keep cellular plan or remove cellular plan?

unpair - keep cellular plan -reboot phone - re-pair watch

After speaking with 2 different customer service reps AND being disconnected, I finally figured it out and did it myself on their website. The only thing I still need them to do is to link my old series 4 watch to my husbands phone. It was painful to say the least.

Well that is a complete lie just to get rid of you and not impact the rep's metrics. Again this has happened every year since 2017 and the Series 3 Cellular mode was released. A large number of IMEI / EID number are not in the carrier's system. It is even more frustrating should you want to switch carriers as they will say the same dumb thing.

I'd be ZEROING their survey so hard their metrics will definitely feel in!!!

It has to be asked, why did you get the cellular version that cost more If you don’t want to spend $10 a month and use it ?
Maybe wanted a material that is cellular only. That's one thing that annoys me. Why cant people get a nice material without coughing up $100 more and $X/month? I suppose you could just not activate for the second part, but you are still paying an extra $100 for no reason on top of the material upcharge.

So I’m not sure if it’s just me but is the watch showing up funny for anyone else in Find My and the Apple Store app? It won’t show the icon at all in Find My and in the Apple app it shows a watch but no information is there and the option to click on it to see the things it recommends (like bands) isn’t there...I removed from my Apple ID and re-attached but it’s still being funny. Was like that before I unpaired and re-paired

I opened my watch today. It asked me to sign into my Verizon account and bam, activated within 10 seconds - good to go. It also was kind enough to let me know that I'd be getting a $30 service fee. lol.

I guess I'm on an old unlimited plan because it said $10 instead of $5 - oh well, someday we'll upgrade to the new one.

Looking forward to utilizing my first LTE watch. S6 is noticeably faster! I added all my Apple Pay cards to it, looking forward to going around without a phone just for the heck of it.

I am going to feel a lot safer with my wife being able to contact me while I'm waddling (running) around. It'll also be nice to call 911 if I see anything too.

For the last 24 hours, I left my iPhone at home and use just my Apple Watch for communications and texting and to my surprise, though I felt kind of lost a few moments without the phone, my watch actually did work very well with the phone calls, texting, Walking exercise that I use the most. Now I will just leave my phone at home and have absolutely no need for it for most of the day. Others of course will have more of a need for their smart phone, but I don’t. No more bulk in my pants :p

I am having similar issues on Sprint..... Decided to try out cellular for the first time and called Sprint, I gave them my IMEI number and it's still not connected 30 hours later. I was on a chat and they had my wipe it and re-sync it and the cellular icon is still greyed out. They then told me to wait a few hours and it should be fine as they see it processing in the system!?!?!?!?

Super frustrating!

For the first few days, I couldn't get cellular. I saw this thread but couldn't deal with picking up the phone and calling Verizon at that particular time. Then a few days ago I was able to activate without ever having to call.

The first cellular watch I had was the Series 3. I have Sprint and when I called they had no idea how to set up the cellular. If I am remembering correctly the series 3 was the first to offer cellular and it seemed the carriers had not gotten the memo yet. I finally went into a store and there was a guy working there who knew what to do. Actually he was the only one who knew! Since then with my Series 4, 5 and now 6 all I had to do was say yes during setup and everything transferred over perfectly.

I bought the S6 at the apple store. I am on a business plan and the owner of the small business so I have permissions. Anyway, I’m getting this error. I went to the Verizon store and set up the line on their end but can’t get cellular on my watch.. It’s been 2 days since it’s been elevated with Verizon. They can’t seem to figure it out. They have my imei logged into the line. Here’s the message I’m getting. Not sure if this is similar to everyone else.

Common for business customers. You need to contact your Verizon rep.

I just did mine without help of vzw. No issues at all.

There shouldn’t be any issues now for the most part. There would typically be issues when they’re just released by Apple, and can also be the case if you’re a business customer and don’t purchase from a cellular provider.
