Honestly, I don't want anything to do with the phone. I think it's pretty dumb how they designed it. iPhone 8 is a better option in my opinion. iOS 11 is too dumb for the limitations they put on the device.

This video describes my views on the situation well.

I've been trying to decide if I want to replace my 7 plus lately. I'll definitely try to get a preorder in, pay in full. But I'd like to play with the demo units and see how I feel about the phone first.

At least I'll have the phone just in case. Flipping it would depend on my post reactions playing with the demos, if I didn't get the color/capacity I want, and how much mark up on eBay - it just seems like a smart idea if I'm going through all this trouble

Because don't you know? Millennials, and only millennials, are all entitled crybabies who complain when whatever they want isn't placed right in their hands as soon as they want it!
They certainly are a majority... and definitely the ones protesting too much. ;)

I'm curious how you know the majority of millennials, or the age of anyone here who hasn't chosen to disclose it. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that maybe you're generalizing. ;)

Of course I'm generalizing but it's an apt generalization. Mostly because people who AREN'T Millennials wouldn't be here arguing about something this stupid in the middle of a work day. I'm on the cusp so I should know. ;)

Last point. It’s nkt scalping. It’s not the correct word.

It is buying and reselling for a profit.

When I lay out $1000 for a phone to sell I’m risking my money.
Please spare me the BS that you're risking your money, you're not. If you can't sell for a profit after 14 days you just go back to Apple and ask for a refund.

Some of use are baby boomers who are retired with nothing better else to do. :D

What if you get scammed when you try to sell. It is not a 100% arbitrage.

I have a feeling scalpers are going to have a heyday on this one given that they haven't even started producing the iPhone X yet...

If supply is so constrained the fulfillment of launch day orders may stretch well into 2018, heck yeah I'm going to order a couple to flip. First time ever.

For the record. This is not unscrupulous. This is taking a chance with ones own dollars to earn a profit. Someone that wants the phone still gets it.

There is no risk. Can't turn a profit? Return phone within 14 days and get money back. They take no loss.

I am thinking of holding out a bit longer than the 14 day period. I suspect it will peak just before Christmas here in Europe...

Scalpers are going to have difficulty even trying to get an iPhone X in their hands with the limited availability in all likeliness.
