all of those naked iphones are just so damn sleek and sexy. Makes me want to take off all of the protection and let it be freeeee. Crazy? lol

What's crazy is how misleading your title and post are lol. But yeah, I only use "part-time" cases. By that I mean it is caseless most of the time, but I have a case for when I know there may be a higher chance of damaging my phone such as when I'm hiking, biking, etc.

I didn't use a case at first, but then it slipped out of my hands a few days after I had purchased my phone. Luckily it was fixed (replaced) under warranty with no additional charge. I've been going with a case (Incase Snap) ever since.

The iPhone 4 is beautiful without a case, but it's also incredibily prone to scratches and it's very slippery. I really dislike this. You can say a lot about HTC phones (I don't like Android and the design of most HTC phones), but the unibody designs feel great and are incredibly scratch resistant, they're hard to damage and there's no glass to shatter. With the iPhone 4, chances of a drop being fatal for the glass on either the back or front are high.

This thread is so misleading at first... :D

I use the Incase Snap because it's the most minimalistic ;)

Same here. The 4 is the first iPhone where I actually put a case on the phone. I didn't feel the 2G, 3G, or 3GS needed a case. But talking on the phone for a while with the 4 naked was very uncomfortable. So I picked up the Incase snap case, and it works perfectly.

Using naked phone here, no screen protectors  Just carry it in a leather holster in my pocket, so wont get scratched by keys or coins, etc.

Anyway, by the time the phone is 2-3 years old, it's time to be upgraded, and I dont care what's its condition by that time

2-3 years is a long time to go without a drop, and it only takes 1 to crack the screen, not to say i drop my phone daily but i have dropped it atleast twice in the first year

I go commando. Though for the first months I had a screen protector and used the Apple bumber for quite a while. I have one little scratch across the screen that isn't noticeable really, some dings around the antenna that were inflicted when I had the bumber on. I've dropped it on concrete and gravel a few times and have a few dents on the rubber around the antenna and the antenna itself because of it. But I don't care. I love how it looks and feels and don't want to ruin that aspect of the phone. It's just a phone after all, I say enjoy it how Apple intended.

I keep mine caseless, but I have Power Support Crystal film on both the front and back. You can't tell its there, of course, but it does provide some scratch support. I recently replaced it because the back got a few scratches and the front's oleophobic coating wore off and it was bugging me. Looks awesome now...I never liked the look of any kind of case/protection on the iP4, it's too nice to cover it with anything.

I recently decided to let little whitey start freeballin it. Before I had an idAmerica case, which I still use if I travel or take the phone to someplace rugged. I'm waiting on my White Carbon Fiber back protector from JustStickIt. I had one of their black leather ones on my old iPad and loved it. I'm hoping to get just a bit of scratch and fingerprint protection with it. I hate having anything on the front because I'm phobic about what I allow to touch my face :p

This thread has me considering rocking a naked iPhone now. I have done it in the past for maybe a week at a time. I have a holster for my hip that I keep my naked iPhone in when I'm not using it. I'm noticing more people rocking iPhones naked these days.

Naked since day one. That includes the first iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. I don't like cases or screen protectors at all.

Same here. The only Apple product I put a back skin on is the iPad, although you'd have to insect it closely to see that it's even there. And my kids' iPod touches have cases, but that's because my kids are 1 and 4 y/o ... ;)

I've got naked with every phone I've had. I mean it's only a phone, couldn't care less about little scratches all over the phone as long as the screen is fine.

never used a case or screen protector
I don't understand the widespread use of cases
people obsess over the sleek, slim design of the iphone; argue over mm of thickness, etc
and then put the phone in an ugly, cheap, plastic/rubber case that makes it thicker, heavier, etc

plus cases make it way harder to clean your phone
without a case all I have to do is wipe the front and back a couple times on my shirt

your 1 year old has an iPod Touch?

People who put phones in cases are either outright clumsy, or suckers for marketing, especially those who use screen protectors. Not once have I ever had a scratched screen on any phone I've ever had, period.

Cases suck.

People tell me "well its an expensive electronic, what if you drop it?!" to which I say "well your computer is an expensive electronic, do you put a case on that as well?" :p

Of course for the clumsy types though its a money saver... ;)

Do you carry a computer with you wherever you go? No, but a laptop you can and use something to carry it.

So it's not a good comparison ;)

A laptop cannot be put inside a jacket pocket, so naturally you tend to carry those around in laptop bags or other suitable bag. My phone fits in my pockets, so why would it need any exterior protection? I have never, ever dropped a phone.

Never said never! :D I drooped my phone once and try to catch it with my foot but ending kicking it! :(

Don't you mean, "Never say never"?! I said I have never, ever drooped a phone (meaning, not drooped one to-date), not that I will never droop one in the future ;)

I am usually very careful with my phone and after having it since launch I didn't drop it until couple of weeks ago, lucky that I have a case and a screen protector, otherwise a replacement is likely needed. I'm surprise how well the phone hold up with the case after the drop.

Still going naked but decided to

stuff it in my purple ipod sock sometimes... fits like a glove.

I'm now rocking mine naked. Just put in order for a docking station for both my iPhone and iPad since they won't have cases on them.
