Which bumper did you end up purchasing?

I think I used it for maybe a day and ditched it. Just using the leather case all the time now instead. I was really hoping a bumper would work nicely but the phone felt weird/slippery with this aluminum bumper, and the fat/thin of the bumper to "no case" part of it was just awkward. It feels much nicer in hand with the Apple leather case now.

I’ve been searching and buying many cases looking for the thin look but offer some sort of protection. At the moment, I’m using the Casekoo Pacific Blue thin case from Amazon and I love it! At first it felt slippery but after using for a few hours I’ve gotten used to it. The case still retains the squared design and don’t add any bulk. There is a lip to protect the camera and you can still see the camera bump color. The volume and power button are of course covered. I can see myself using this case daily.

To those of you who always protect your iPhone’s, I suggest trying out going caseless at least for one generation. The best way to start is right when you get the phone. No case, no skin, no screen protector. Just how Steve Jobs used his iPhone. (Yes yes I know he was wealthy and had an unlimited supply)

Keep only 1 case for something like going to the gym, running/exercising, hiking, amusement parks, etc aka places you’ll know you’ll have a much higher risk of having an accident.

Any other place? Bars, school, home, friends house, store, mall, etc - just go naked. Totally worth it and you might be surprised at how much you’ll like it and how amazing it is to use!! It’s thinner, lighter, gestures are fluid with no edges of screen protectors and cases, the haptic engine feels even BETTER, the screen is 100% optically clear with no barrier or any visible outlines of a screen protector so it’s more immersive.

sure, you could drop it and break it but that’s life. Just try it for once if you’re on the fence!

Yeah, tried that. Yall “its too beautiful” people got me once. NOT happening on my 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.

See you in 12 month. iPhone all scratched up, resale value couple hundred bucks lower.
Your assuming im some clumsy individual lol using a sleeve and a screen protector is fine if you are very careful like myself, I've done this for every iPhone since the 6s .

No case, no screen protector on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, just like every iPhone I've owned since 2008.

iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S
iPhone 5
iPhone 5S
iPhone 6
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone 7 Plus
iPhone X
iPhone 11 Pro Max
iPhone 12 Pro Max

The funny thing is, I've bought cases (usually Apple Leather) for all of the above ... but I never actually use them. This year is the first year I've skipped it.

While the iphone is tempting to go naked with keep in mind that repairs are costly even with AppleCare

I think some people here seem to think there is a right answer to whether everybody should use a case or not .
I’ve always used a case in the past with the smaller phone versions. However since the Maxes became available I’ve occasionally gone without a case. The smaller ones would always slip through my hands. The larger ones are much easier to maintain a good grip. But I normally am using a wallet case, the ability to just grab my phone and go and know that I have everything I’ll need is irresistibly convenient. Other than that I would probably go mostly without a case, as long as I have something similar to my current 12 Pro Max. They look so good when they’re out of a case.

I hate cases. Even more so screen protectors! I try - TRY - to go caseless as much as I can. BUT - and that's a big BUT! - the iPhone 12 Pro Max is HUGE. It's hard to type or even just scroll through stuff on there without fear of dropping it. Bought a few cases but also am removing it from case as much as I can. I leave it on case when going out for a jog/exercising/biking and when I'm in the house and kids are around.

But when I'm out and about - I'd just want to flaunt it! Also, this:

and this:

You're welcome 🤘🤘🤘

I’d love to go case-less on my 12 Pro in graphite because it’s such a sexy beast, however, so much as a cough seems to inflict damage to it.

You guys are sure brave raw-doggin it!!

A lot of good my case has done ... never dropped it either. Not sure how this happened to my 12.

Something just like you described, happened to my 12 Pro. Almost always in a case and never dropped, yet I somehow have a ding just like yours.

Never used a case. I have only dropped and cracked a phone once, under AppleCare+. No reason to destroy the stunning design of the phone with a case. I can see that there is a case (!) for a case for clumsy people. My wife has cracked many phones, so she puts on cases on he phones by necessity.

I have a diaclara case (as close as apple's silicon case w/o magsafe) for outside the home use and a fitbag sleeve (bought for iphone x and it fits the iPhone 12 pro which is win for me) for in home use. I am as careful as possible as anyone is and really appreciate the design more without the case.

I also decided to use a yootek screen protector (4 pack for $8, another win) this time around and oddly enough it gives the illusion that the bezels are smaller than normal which is great for me as I always wanted the iPhone to have smaller bezels. I can't explain it maybe others can chine in about that but the illusion works for my eyes.

While i'd rather just use it without a case because the design and feel is that good, I'd rather be safe than sorry (no apple care either).

Some people simply prefer the look of the phone with a case on it. Different strokes for different folks I say.

I have gone case less for the last year and much prefer the feel of my 12 Pro Max that way. Covering iPhone with case, or worst still screen protector for me spoils the experience.

For possible damage, that is why I have Apple care cover

I never used to use a case until the XS, have used them since as they just became too slippery, otherwise I wouldn't bother. The case I do use is the thinnest, lightest possible just to stop it from being as slippery.
