There are gonna be lots of bugs in the beginning as usual, hardware issues may arise as well, it's better to wait a little bit, in my case I own a 6s, new colors, some are incremental updates but nothing is a game changer.

No upgrade for me this year.

Interesting... you're going from the Plus to regular model? Any particular reason? I'm actually thinking of doing the opposite... regular to Plus.

I made a thread on this because and talk about it here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/regular-or-plus-7-series-edition.1992896/#post-23351833

But basically, I've only had Plus models for the battery. The 7 is rated at "2 hours better than the 6s", so as of this moment I'm going with that.

Did they say the battery was going to be better on
the 7 compared to the 6s?

Meh, not really. I thought so but the compare tool on the Apple website shows mixed results. However, the one area the 7 battery out performs the 6s Plus is internet browsing, and that's where I spend most my time.

I went from a 6S to the SE, and the only thing that possibly tempts me is the Plus b.c of the camera. Holding out for a new SE next year.

Going from Space Gray 16GB 6S Plus to Jet Black 128GB regular iPhone 7.

-I wanted to downsize, becuase im tired of the Plus.
-I needed more storage, 16GB is miserable
-Water resistance
-Better camera (current camera sucks badly)
-I've never keep a phone for more than a year

So I have reasons to justify it and it will seem like an upgrade.

You realize the 6S Plus had arguably the best camera in a smartphone prior to the Note 7.. right?

I'm going from my 6S Plus 64GB Space Gray to the 7 Plus 128GB Jet Black. What sold it for me was the improved camera. My first child is being born in November and I want the best camera I can get on my phone so I can capture all the moments when I don't have my digital camera handy.

2 more hours of battery life is what I heard.

I feel the same way.

Camera most likely will suck again, Apple in the 6 series implemented a noise reduction algorithm producing washed out photos, obviously the pictures displayed yesterday are edited, my 5s used to produce nice and crisp photos with a nice white balance, sadly now Samsung has better camera sensors.

I'm still deciding. Only just got back off holiday so am playing catch up. I see there's 2 black models? I fancy the 128GB jet black if I do go ahead. What time do the orders go live? 8am?

I am, and most people are probably on the upgrade programs through their cell provider so I suspect lots will.

The only justification I have is that I want it lol otherwise moving from the 6S to the 7 is relatively unnecessary unless you really like to take pictures. I also wanna get a little more acclimated with the missing jack as that will undoubtably be what all other phones will move to in the future.

I'm on the fence because I have a 6s Plus 128gb and its still a good phone. I will know for sure before midnight!
I'm in the same boat. I have a 128GB 6s Plus and it's the best phone I've ever had. I usually get a new iPhone every year. It was easy last year as I wasn't keen on my 6 plus but this year....mmm....What to do?!

I wanted to downsize, because I'm tired of the Plus.

This.
I've had the 6 plus and now have the 6s plus and I'm about done with this size phone.
After two years I now find it somewhat cumbersome and a bit heavy to have in my pocket every day.

The only significant reason to upgrade, is for the camera, and even that on the plus model only. This assumes you have a recent iPhone. So if you aren't using the camera a ton, i don't know that it's really worth the upgrade. You may want one though. That's a different story.

It's a bit lame that you have to wait for a software upgrade to take full advantage of the new camera. This is just so sloppy on Apple's part. IMHO

Well at least they don't release the software half ass and they wait until it is ready unlike Google. I give Apple bonus points for that.

The camera is the only reason to upgrade and I think this year is a great year to hold on to your old phone because there are no exclusive features outside of the camera.

Upgrading only because I've been wanting to make the jump to the 5.5 inch display. Almost pulled the trigger a couple of months back on the 6s+ but (surprisingly and uncharacteristicly) decided to wait for the 7.

Outside of the difference in size there's nothing in this phone that would tempt me enough to upgrade. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to take a hard inquiry and stick with the AUP or buy outright...

I am going from 6S to 7. I really like the 7S camera, but the size is too big for me. I am on Verizon plan where I can upgrade every year. I am sure the dual camera will come to the smaller phone at some point.

A better battery, faster processor and water resistance are exclusive new features.
