The display is not made with sapphire. The apple leather case is about as close to naked as it gets
How do you get micro scratches on it unless you at around a lot of sand. Not many minerals can scratch the sapphire only w couple

Isn't that just a thin case though? How does that help with hairline scratches?
Going naked. Already spent a grand. Not gonna spend any more money on it.
You're going to feel awfully sad when that beautiful device slips from your dry fingers one wintery afternoon on the concrete and shatters the screen. All because of the slippery edges.
I love the feel of carrying the phone the way it is. Thus wouldn't want to put anything on it. Have never used screen protectors since I find them useless. My only concern is scratches and scuffs. I can live with hairline scratches, but hate scuffs and hard scratches. Thus my question as to how the back of the phone is with regards to scratches.
I made an account just to say this.
I bought an iPhone 6s on iPhone forever and absolutely despise cases, I reluctantly bought a tempered glass screen protectors just in case but refuse to use a case as I don't like the aesthetics and I have had every iPhone since the original (aside from the 4) and have only cracked the 5S due to a freak accident years after owning it.
I was reading this exact thread, went on a beer run with friends and when I hopped out of the car my phone fell to my feet, then fell 2 feet from there to the concrete. My protecter shattered only on the top right and bottom left corners and I got a deep indent in the side aluminum (bottoms left) to my suprise, the only part of the screen that was exposed (small edges of the screen particularly bottom left) had a crack in it. The rest of the screen is thankfully ok thanks to the case but in retrospect, with even the slimmest of cases I would have had no damage.
Now I'm trying to find out the cheapest way to get this fixed, it's not a huge issue but I know I won't be able to upgrade next year with it. Imo, get a small case, or if you go naked, get a good tempered glass protector, you never know when some freak accident will happen.
I always use my phones naked. For the first time ever, I am considering the midnight blue apple leather case though. It just looks so damn nice!
Also a big fan of the Caudabe Veil here (the "XT" version, not the one that leaves the bottom open). Fits the bill if you don't like cases in general. Not sure what you mean by hairline scratches unless you're talking about the screen. I put a glass screen protector on the front. With that on the front and the Caudabe protecting every other part, you basically are completely protected from scratches and chips anywhere on the phone. Works well. the only thing I miss is the cold metal feel of the phone, as kinky as that might sound.
