The apple leather case is about as close to naked as it gets

How do you get micro scratches on it unless you at around a lot of sand. Not many minerals can scratch the sapphire only w couple
The display is not made with sapphire.

I have used the saddle brown case the last 2 days just to give it a fair shot and it is more slippery than the naked 6s+ which is odd.

Naked or nothing at this point as I pony'd up the cash for AC+ this time around knowing I am going naked as well as with the new 3d touch screen just in case.

Isn't that just a thin case though? How does that help with hairline scratches?

Also a big fan of the Caudabe Veil here (the "XT" version, not the one that leaves the bottom open). Fits the bill if you don't like cases in general. Not sure what you mean by hairline scratches unless you're talking about the screen. I put a glass screen protector on the front. With that on the front and the Caudabe protecting every other part, you basically are completely protected from scratches and chips anywhere on the phone. Works well. the only thing I miss is the cold metal feel of the phone, as kinky as that might sound.

Thank you very much for your all your inputs. Still waiting for I6s, but in the meantime I've been using the 6 naked and absolutely love the way it feels. Just wanted to know how the back of the phone holds up when using naked. Normally with a case on you can put your phone on any surface and not care about it, but can you do the same with a naked iPhone?

You could try a skin. Best skins ever is pretty great if you get the matte finish for the back just don't select the screen protector. It looks totally naked but it adds a tiny bit of grip. Only like 7 bucks right now

I love the feel of carrying the phone the way it is. Thus wouldn't want to put anything on it. Have never used screen protectors since I find them useless. My only concern is scratches and scuffs. I can live with hairline scratches, but hate scuffs and hard scratches. Thus my question as to how the back of the phone is with regards to scratches.

Going naked. Already spent a grand. Not gonna spend any more money on it.

You're going to feel awfully sad when that beautiful device slips from your dry fingers one wintery afternoon on the concrete and shatters the screen. All because of the slippery edges.

Done the same for years, but my 6+ had more hairline scratches in one week than any previous iPhone I have ever had. So while I have hated screen protectors because of how bad they used to be, I think I am changing my tune and am going with screen protector and no case, so almost naked. The hairline scratches don't bother you, but they started to bother me, so this is the best solution for me. And yes, Applecare if I need it.

Wrapped my 6s just like my last 5s.

I don't drop phones. And this wrap really helps with keys scratches and bumps into something. I recommend it!

I really wish I can go naked with the new iPhone. But my hands sweat a lot and those fingerprints on the back drove me crazy. I literally was wiping down the phone all day without case. Not sure why though but I don't mind fingerprints on the back of a case...

For me, this will probably go like with every other iPhone I have had. First few months in a transparent case, then maybe play around with a few "funky" cases and end up going naked once the honeymoon phase is over :p

I made an account just to say this.

I bought an iPhone 6s on iPhone forever and absolutely despise cases, I reluctantly bought a tempered glass screen protectors just in case but refuse to use a case as I don't like the aesthetics and I have had every iPhone since the original (aside from the 4) and have only cracked the 5S due to a freak accident years after owning it.

I was reading this exact thread, went on a beer run with friends and when I hopped out of the car my phone fell to my feet, then fell 2 feet from there to the concrete. My protecter shattered only on the top right and bottom left corners and I got a deep indent in the side aluminum (bottoms left) to my suprise, the only part of the screen that was exposed (small edges of the screen particularly bottom left) had a crack in it. The rest of the screen is thankfully ok thanks to the case but in retrospect, with even the slimmest of cases I would have had no damage.

Now I'm trying to find out the cheapest way to get this fixed, it's not a huge issue but I know I won't be able to upgrade next year with it. Imo, get a small case, or if you go naked, get a good tempered glass protector, you never know when some freak accident will happen.

I would never use a $1000 phone naked unless it was covered by my employer. Even then, I would be paranoid about dropping it. I mean, its engineered by Apple to be slippery. I put a Moshi iGlaze NAPA on. To me it adds very little bulk its nice looking as well.

The cheapest fix is a case.

I really dont understand why people spend so much money on a phone and not want to protect it. Even if your not a clumsy person or never dropped a phone before there's a first time for everything. S**t happens. You just never know. I dont like cases either but I just get a clear thin silicon case to have some type of protection. I like to keep my phone is the most mint condition possible for either resale or trade in value.

On a whim I got a clear Insignia case at BB. I was going naked since I bought the 6s at launch. Not anymore, much easier to handle.

I always use my phones naked. For the first time ever, I am considering the midnight blue apple leather case though. It just looks so damn nice!

The leather cases are great and protect more than people think. I had one on my 5s. The quality of leather and thinness is amazing! So got one with my 6s.

Agreed. The Caudabe Veil or something like it is really the best option for a lot of folks in this thread who want to go naked. Gets out of the way but still shields the phone from scratches and isn't a pain in the arse to install like skins. Also provides slightly more drop protection than a skin.

On another note, the upgrade plan through Apple is pretty awesome now that it includes AppleCare. Makes going naked or close to it not so risky.

Naked all the way!

I've been using a naked iPhone since iPhone 3 and not about to stop lol. No cases can compare to the iPhone's own case.

Sometimes I do wonder how people feel who uses phone cases all their life and never actually get to feel the craftsmanship of the product on a daily use. They will always feel the quality of the case they purchased (which unless it isn't a premium case, it will always be a cheap £10-20 case).

I put an Apple silicone case on my 6s from day one, however this is the first iPhone with which I won't be using a screen protector.
