Yes

On June 30, 2007, I got my iphone. As of this day, it works great. Considering today's technology, that's pretty impressive. My one beef is that I need the earbud adapter for the recessed hole. My earbuds haven't lastest as long and I misplace the adapter, often.

However, when, and if, the new iphone comes out this summer, I will upgrade.

A big THANK YOU to all who are still happy with their original 'phones! :D

My contract expired in March and I had decided to get an iPhone when OS 3.0 is available later in the year. I'm waiting because I need MMS (to receive the regular supply of pics of Daughter's latest addition to her family!).

However, reading all the tales of gloom regarding both the iPhone and Apple's after-sales service, I've been having serious doubts. I have always considered Apple's products to be particularly well engineered and produced and therefore have had difficulty in believing the validity of some of these so-called "complaints". From the tone of a proportion, to me, it is apparent that some people either give their 'phones a hard time, will never be satisfied with anything, have a misguided sense of "fair wear and tear" or just think it's clever to complain! There again, I'm probably wrong - there are obviously a few rotten eggs in Apple's basket!

Anyhow, thanks again to those of you for rebuilding my confidence in the prospect of my future purchase!! :D

+1

Its nice to see a more positive thread.

I was feeling a bit of concern at one point as well. Not so much now. I'm just excited that I will finally have one in a couple of months! :D

I wish I had my first iPhone 3G so I could scoff at all of those who replaced theirs several times.

Unfortunately, I had to replace mine because both the earpiece speaker and the speakerphone speaker simply stopped working. The Genius working with me was very sweet about it (also incredibly gorgeous).

Still on my 8Gb Edge iPhone with no problems at all - in fact my girlfriend's daughter recently got herself a 3G model and prefers mine - reckons it feels as though it has a "better build quality".

That said, when my contract expires in summer, I'll be keeping an eye out for the rumoured next model.

Sold my original 2G for $250.00 and my 3G that was bought a month after release is in perfect shape thanks to the casemate leather case. Its a lifesaver! The phone looks perfect. My 3G iPhone has been a dream!

I still have my 3G. It has almost been one year. It is in pristine condition and I carry it naked everywhere. I travel internationally all the time too. Everyone is shocked that I would not carry it in a case.

Anyone have the SAME iPhone from the day you bought it?

My very first cell phone is the original Apple 4 gigabyte model. It is still working fine. My wife and I purchased 2 the first day they were available. We haven't found it necessary to upgrade to the 3G phones. We are very happy with these "old" ones.

Still have my 4gig from Aug of 07'
Looks great and works awesome... I have never been so happy with a phone. Every new software update is like getting a new phone for me.

Though if a new phone comes out this year I will upgrade.

No Problems

I still have my original 3G - purchased in September 2008. My wife has her original 2G purchased in December 2007 - both work flawlessly.

I've had my 3g since 7 days after launch. Thought I'd broken it once, but it's been fine the rest of the time. Still not bored with it yet and it still fascinates other people.

Yes but I exchanged my headphones.

Phone has been perfect, White one with No cracks at all. I even dropped it in the sink and dried it in a sealed bag full of damp rid for 24 hrs and its as good as new.

Mine needs replaced. I am about to wipe it...lose jailbreak and add 2.21 and get ready for 3.0. Only thing I will really miss with no jailbreak is "lockdown"
