Kind of funny that people got up at 3 am to order these 6+ phones not knowing if they had 2 GB RAM and have been anxiously watching for conformation of shipping, etc and now 20 % are ready to return them if they come with 1 GB without even knowing what their performance is.

I cancelled my 6+ order because it will arrive in mid October.

Anyone gets the 6+ on 9/19 may be able to sell it at a higher price. No reason to return or cancel.

This. I get that people want to be in the first wave to receive the product, but buying something like this without completely knowing the specs and testing it out first is something I just would NOT do. Guess there's plenty who would and do, but I feel like the hissy fits and anxiety that people get themselves into is easily avoidable.

Not returning it for the spec. Returning it for the performance. If I can keep a significant number of apps/tabs accessible without reloading, then fine.

If not, then it's not a product that's worth 1,000 dollars to me. Simple enough, right?

Wow, nearly 20% of poll-voters looking to cancel/return the 6+ based on the amount of RAM

Did not expect to see it that high...

Most people don't understand that Apple makes both the hardware and software. They don't need specs overkill in order to perform optimally.

I voted yes because there is no "waiting to test it out first and see how it performs" option.

I preordered because I believed Apple would not take $1,000 from me and give me a product that couldn't keep a decent amount of apps/tabs open. If that assumption turns out to be correct, I will keep it. If not, I will get my $1,000 back.

Don't see what's so offensive about that.

Nothing offensive about that. I just can't understand people wanting the 6+ so desperately and then canceling without even trying it out because of RAM.

I'd say that most people that voted Yes are like me - they will try it out first to see if the RAM causes any problems and then make any decisions accordingly.

I haven't ordered one yet because it's silly in my opinion to do so when we don't even know some of the specs, but if I did preorder and had a lot of tab reloading on the level of the iPad air or early iphones yes I would likely return it.

When iOS demands more RAM, Apple will add more RAM. Their engineers are slightly smarter than I am. I'll trust their hardware decisions.

Sure Apple engineers can add more RAM to a future iPhone you have to pay another $850+ for... but not everyone wants to 'waste' that amount of money on a phone with only 1gb currently and has the potential of being quickly outdated.

Exactly. The new iPhone 6 is no more futureproof than the 5S. RAM will be the spanner in the works for both phones. iPhone 5 users have come out of this RAM debacle the best, their phone has the same amount of RAM as the iPhone released two generations later. Lolz.

There should be an option for "Maybe" in this poll. I wouldn't return my 6 plus for only having 1GB of RAM as long as the overall performance is good. However, if it has the same Tab crashing issue that my iPad Air suffered from, then yes, I will definitely return it.

I think the iPhone 8 will have 1 GB of RAM.

Good lord... imagine if 4 years from now (an eternity in the smartphone world) Apple is still just allowing 1gb of RAM?

Not for ram but for performance. If the 6 plus ends up being slower at 1080p due to the fact that apple didn't give the CPU a speed bump to handle the extra pixels. If the 6 is faster than the 6 plus that would make me either get the 6 or wait for the 6s plus

And if that is laggy too?

Going for any type of Samsung phone and their horrible TouchWiz skin over the top could cause any phone to be laggy, no matter the specs.

I'd assume he could go with a Nexus or Moto X since they have pure Android.

I bet Samsung is watching this very closely. Hoping and praying there will be some RamGate that will push people to return or not buy the 6+ and jump on over to the Note 4.

Oh man, I could already picture their commercial making fun of the iPhone 6+ pitiful 1gb of RAM
