Do you sleep with your watch on? Most people don't. As long as it lasts all day (which it will) multi-day battery life is superfluous for the overwhelming majority of people.

I agree. If I did not already have a phone I have to charge every day I would be freaked out. Plugging in everything is already a habit. Now I just need a decent central charging station that can handle everything.

Lost huge momentum after seeing the price. $350 is already priced high, the one I want is double that cost. I expected 10%, 20%, even up to 50% more compared to price of base model, but priced at 100% more? Making me rethink about purchasing one.

Anybody else losing the sense of euphoria?

I sleep with activity trackers. I also don't charge my iPhone every day. And if I take something off, it may take me a few days to put it back on (which is why my activity tracking isn't all that great and started wearing my misfit in the shower and why I wear my wedding rings like 1 day/week because I take them off when I go to the gym)

In a word... Yes, I get tired of always waiting for info on Apple products. Apple holds everything back, but they will release most of the information ( not all ) after release day, but it is not a problem. most of the people in this forum will buy it. Apple could tell everyone on the 10th of April, that the watch would not be released until July and it will be $150 more for the aluminum model, and all though people would bitch, moan and whine, in a couple days the excuses for apple would start flying. At the end of the week most of the people would buy their product. Apple seems to be like a brother or sister everyone has that is always causing stress for all, but someone always makes excuses for and it is acceptable. I like apple products, but in the end "it is all about me!" and what a product can do for me.

I'm still not understanding the stress about touching the charger to the back of the Watch when people take it off, especially at night.

Meh, you say you're losing momentum now, but you know you're going to be full speed ahead again once preorder time rolls around, and approaching light speed when UPS says "out for delivery." :D

I am as big an Apple/Mac fan as anyone. In my house we have multiple iPhones, MacBooks, Macbook Pros, iMacs, Apple Tv's, iPads, iPods, etc.

We have one Windows computer in our house just in case, and it rarely gets used because I have converted everyone in the family (wife and kids) to be Apple/Mac fans and everyone is loathe to use Microsoft or Android products.

To me, this is just an entirely different product than anything else Apple. I was originally, definitely going to get one. At this point though, I am going to wait and see where Apple heads with this product line.

Funny thing about this question is that earlier I was conjecturing that the reason they did this long window was actually to cause this exact reaction. I don't think Apple wants you to buy the watch if you're just doing it on impulse.

I don't think Apple wants people who don't genuinely hold an interest in the device to have one at first, because, that will lower the general perception of its success. Those people will whine and return items and spread negative opinion socially, and so on. Those people will also almost certainly hide their own idiocy in thoughtless buying behind false claims of problems and such.

I think it's beneficial for Apple to have a slower roll out of this product and by forcing a cooling off period, they will cut down on knee-jerk impulse buyers reacting defensively to their own remorse.

Just a thought.

Na, Apple knew the price shock would put people off initially. The extra time gives them the opportunity to re-convince themselves to buy it. If it was available for pre-order directly after March 9, many people would have waited. Many of those same people will be pre-ordering.

Its not stress, its just I rather not have to worry about having to charge it every day. I know I'll forget.

When you travel a lot and internationally, it's just one more thing to worry about. As it is for me, there's already one MacBook, two iPads (one private, one company) and two iPhones (1pr/1co) to charge. You don't always find the power outlets you need, often you need power adapters.

So any additional device has to earn it's keep. I understand this won't be an issue so much for people who sleep at home every night.

This made me think of another question. Is this going to be another thing that sets off TSA sensors?

I'm sure you're right - I know I'm going to pre-order a Watch, it just seems like this waiting phase is going too long.

I change my mind every day, but my latest thoughts are that the most sensible thing to do is to "trade down" to the Sports.

I'm not 100% in love with any of the SS straps. And £599 is a lot of money. Especially on a first generation watch that may be updated as soon as next year.

I actually think the Sports model looks great. And it's the same watch inside, which is ultimately what counts. Sapphire vs IonX? Well, I'll just be careful.

What's a TSA sensor? X-Ray machines at airports? If yes the AW would certainly have to go through, as any wristwatch.

Yes, I mean the x-ray machine. Will it need to be removed or can I walk through wearing it -- that is what I wanted to type (but it was before I had my caffeine).

Out of curiosity if you are losing your interest why post the thread and keep posting to it? IMO if you keep coming back to this forum you likely still have a sufficient interest level.;)

Who are we kiddin', we're all addicts hanging out here! :D

Of course you need to remove it before walking through the scanners/x-ray machine. This is true for every watch ever made.

The charge cable plugs into a USB port. No need for additional adapters. If you're already charging your macbook, then you're in good shape. :)

I do not currently have to remove my watch when I go through the scanner. It does not set off alarms.

I'm still interested and I'm still going to pre-order. As I said in another post, I just don't have the euphoria about it that I initially experienced.

Weird, I'm always asked to when I go through airports. Even half a packet of chewing gum set the alarm off last time due to the metallic wrapper!

The only piece of jewelry that consistently sets off the alarm is a gold bangle bracelet. They told me because it is an unbroken circle the 'beams' don't know what to make of it.

I won't lie, I have lost quite a bit of interest in it. I was expecting an April 3rd (or April 10th at the latest) release date. We don't get to touch the watches until the 10th, let alone be able to buy one until the 24th. That was probably what put me off the most about the :apple: Watch. Not the price, because I was prepared to spend $500 base price for the 42mm Sport with Sport band, but the release date. My enthusiasm is still there, but dialed down. Pre-event, it was on a 11/10 excitement level, now it's dialed down to a 5/10 or 6/10.
