Ive Had collection of cases lol. But I using my 11 pro with no case now. I think what I’m most concerned is getting it scratched in my pocket from coins or keys. I have insurance for my phone, my problem is due to low production of iPhone 11 it might take time for it to be replaced

Yes very true. When the 8, and x. Generation started, was when repair cost skyrocketed. Back glass repairs for the 8 was expensive.

It’s pretty eye watering how much is charged to replace the glass on these new iPhones. Looking at the repair videos its also clear that they’ve been designed to make replacing these panels extremely hard so in essence you have no choice but to return to the manufacturer. The labour cost and inflated material cost means a simple drop can cost £326.44 ($401.79) here in the UK.

AppleCare+ here is £149-199 for an iPhone which is pretty expensive when you consider an excess fee is charged on top for accidental damage. Leading UK consumer watchdog ‘Which?’ don’t support extended warranty schemes and state 80% of Apples UK replacements are covered by consumer law and many consumers don’t realise their phones are already covered through banks and personal property and home insurance policies. With AppleCare you’re paying a hefty premium for speed and convenience in handling your claim. However in practise the turnaround time on average is roughly the same regardless of source provider. Apple have marketed it beautifully though and carriers support it through negotiated commissions.

It’s a lucrative business model though, i’ll give them that!

Accidental drops aren’t covered by consumer law though. So you’ll still need to pay.
