Possibly. My phone is often placed on the side in a factory, used outside when testing and exposed to the elements, dropped off my desk, used by my two children (3 and 6yrs)... So it gets quite a bashing. I wouldn’t want to be babying my phone though as I like to use it without worry. I’m not keen on the feel of iPhones without a case on personally as they seem so slippery, unergonomic, and fragile. I like that a case adds thickness and grip.

All legitimate reasons to use a case. :) Personally, I don't mind babying my phone if it means I can use it naked (er, you know what I mean), but I can totally relate to people to whom being able to be more casual with their device is a higher priority.

I've had almost every iPhone, all without a case. Only dropped one.

I think I dropped it because it was a bigger model and couldn't handle it with ease. Now I only use the 11 Pro. Won't go Max because it's too hard for me to wield with 1 hand.

To each their own, but the industrial design fan in me thinks it's weird to see people get a brand new iPhone, then cover it in huge cases, protectors and pop sockets.

I used the SE all the time without case as it was easy to hold and use with one hand; all other iPhones I had/have were like bricks too big and with rounded slippery edges meaning had to add ugly case on them making them even larger brick
Nothing beats that SE design which now hopefully will be back in phone 12 (the smallest one); SE 2 is going to be ugly copy of iPhone 8 so thats a waste of time

Anyone who normally goes caseless and have AppleCare+ reconsidering walking around careless now that Apple retail stores are closed indefinitely?

Knowing that it could be many weeks before I would be able to schedule a warranty repair (if I was unlucky enough to drop and crack my phone screen during the COVID-19 lockdown) has me putting my Apple leather case back on my phone (for now). Having AppleCare+ usually makes keeping my phone out of a case an easier decision, but in the present circumstances I can’t rely on that for at least a month.

Nope, still caseless without Apple Care. I have a iPhone X as a backup if my 11 Pro breaks.

One word answer. No. My iPhone fell off a window ledge from about 5.5 feet. I believe my silicon case saved the phone. Why I put it on the ledge is a momentary lapse in judgement.

ive gone caseless since 2010 and have only had applecare on my iPhone 5 or 6 I don't remember. All of this hasn't changed my reason I use my phone without a case so I haven't really thought about it honestly. Im always careful with my things.

I prefer having a case on my iPhone to give it a bit of grip. Plus I drop my phone at least twice a day. I found it behind the shed in the garden the other day still playing baby YouTube after my daughters borrowed it. Not worth not having a case on it to be fair.
it doesn't make sense for you to not have a case. Some people can be cautious with their things I think being single Is gives you a better chance of survival than kids playing with your phone.
Cases to me are uncomfortable and take away from the experience I get from not having any hard edge on the glass I constantly feel with swiping.

That’s fair enough, we are all different. I don’t like the feeling of an iPhone without a case personally even without kids and being clumsy myself. They feel quite slippery and cold I find and quite fragile. I like the grip and a bit more bulk a case gives.

I’m still going ceaseless. I only put a TPM case on when I’m either going to the gym or on holiday. With the lockdown situation we’re all practically at home 24/7, the best possible place my phone can be. So I’m rocking it naked and touching it all over all the time.

Having kids really changes the equation. Pets too (often). I have three kids under age 11 and a mischievous cat. And I have hardwood floors. My full-time office job - with no kids and in a carpeted office - is a safer environment to go caseless than my home. And, as a result, I go caseless whenever I’m at work and put a case on when I get home (the opposite of what many people seem to do). Now that I’m required to work from home, and Apple stores are closed indefinitely, I’ve found myself putting my case on full time for the first time in years.

Lol. That makes complete sense.

dogs for the win. Cats are almost as bad as kids.

I tried to go case less on my XSMax but I only made it 2 hours. I have 2 kids 8 and 2.5 and I do not dare have a naked phone around the 2.5 year old. I’m essential so I’m still working delivering mail and definitely can not go case less. If we were required to stay home for few days, I may then try to go case less again and see what happens, as long as I keep my phone on my dresser.

I look both ways on a one way street, so yes, I do not go case-less or shield-less, even with AppleCare+.

I always use a case. I have many and swap out daily. During the COVID-19 pandemic, if any of you drop and break your unprotected naked iPhone (any model) you will have to wait a long time to get it fixed or replaced at an Apple store. I’d put a case on it during this time of trouble.

I never run a case.

That is what the metal casing is for.

It's a consumable electronics device (not a fashion accessory), and cases detract from the feel of the device in your hand. My 7 is still fine, no case.

I wish. Beautiful phones. I’m one of those that would if I could with my Apple care I always buy.

Right now I wouldn’t, should I drop and smash it when Apple stores are closed during the pandemic shutdowns. Long turn around by mail. No replacement phone while you wait for repair.

For me it’s because I’ve incorpertated my phone to a wallet with a 2 ID case holder and no longer carry a wallet around. It’s been liberating to not have a wallet in back pocket. 😀 Can’t do that without my Spigen CS case.

Up until recently when I bought her a clear case, my girlfriend carried her phone around in an old sock :)

You might feel differently on your next phone seeing as the iPhone 7 is not glass front and back lol. One drop and you’ve caused so much damage it’s not even worth paying for the repairs :p

A friend of mine sent their iPhone 11 Pro off last week after it bricked unexpectedly and they got a replacement back on the seventh day. It was pretty much the same with my faulty Apple Watch, so I think the turnaround is still pretty fast.

Yes very true. When the 8, and x. Generation started, was when repair cost skyrocketed. Back glass repairs for the 8 was expensive.
