Just to be sure, did everyone do a Reset Network Settings? This clears things up sometimes regarding connectivity issues. I myself haven't had any wifi issues with the recent updates but I'm one of those lucky iPad owners that never seems to have any problems.

I have reset network settings several times along with doing a full reset erasing everything and doing a restore from recovery mode all to no avail. My router is 2 months old. This is occurring on my 6 plus, iPhone 5 and iPad air. It is absolutely software related. :(

It definatly is software its just weird that it happens on different devices for every one. My iPhone for example is perfect in regards to wifi. Resets etc don't help, the only thing that might be worth a try is switching your wifi to a lower ghz network, ie people said that it relates to 5gh wifi and if you switch to 2.4 ghz it works much better. That's silly tho.

Hi you guys I am new to this forum. I am not having this problem you describe here, I am running a iPad and iPhone 6 with the update 8,02
I can only think it is your Internet provider or maybe your wireless router?

Absolutely nothing at all to do with IP or router.

Read all the threads - devices affected are running IOS 8. Whilst I haven't had issues with speed, I have just experienced my third occasion of dropped 5G Wi-Fi (since I updated to 8.02). My Wife is sat about 1 metre away from me, also using a 6 plus on 8.02 & Wi-Fi still going strong.

There appears to be no pattern to this as it occurs at random. Others have suggested that if you do nothing when it drops off, the Wi-Fi eventually reconnects - you may be unaware that you've had this problem i.e if it occurred whilst you were asleep.

Other than switching to 2.4G, the various suggestions on how to permanently resolve this don't appear to work.

As far as I'm concerned the silence from Apple is telling.

Apple has never heard of this so don't expect a fix

Everyone who has contacted Apple about this has been told that they are the only ones with this problem and Apple has never heard of the issue. Unlikely to be fixed if Apple has never heard of it.

I solved the problem for me by forcing my Airport Extreme ac to use 5GHz channel 161. This has worked for some, failed for others. One more thing to try. If that doesn't work stick with the 2.4 GHz band which seems to be solid.

What version of 8 are you running? Any luck yet?

I have been thinking a little more about this problem maybeit has to do with your IP's bandwidth and how many people are using the service at this time ?
You can test this theory quite easily by downloading something at different times of the day and night and compare the results and speed.

I've been having WiFi issues with my 6+ since the day I got it, but my problem is a little different. My phone stays connected to the WiFi network no problem (i.e. I can see other devices on the network), but there's simply no data flowing. Safari, Facebook, etc all time out and tell me there's no data connection. This is with an Airport Extreme router.

Here's the interesting thing -- when I switch over to our "Guest" WiFi network everything works great. It's only a problem when I'm on our main network.

I really need to be on the main network so I can see my other devices, so can anyone recommend a solution? Is it definitely iOS 8, or could it be my router?

Absolutely not. It happens at all times of the day. At my home I get 60 Mbps. At the worst times I get 20 Mbps. This is a Broadcom driver issue on the iPhone 6 and iPad Air.

I have been experiencing and reporting Safari as very sluggish since the upgrade. I now find AirPlay mirroring is also broken from iPad to Apple TV, widely reported, yet Apple fiddles while Rome burns.

I'm really unimpressed by Apple of late.

I also have WiFi issues both with the Air and the mini 1 gen running on 5 GHz. The iPad 2 on 2.4 GHz however seems to work fine.

With no disrespect to you the Mbps coming into your home is not enough and depending on what you are running at that particular time has a great deal to do with it. Remember that old cliche you can be only as fast as your slowest link. I am actually running 250 Mbps at the moment but I am considering upgrading to 1000 Mbps

I am running 8.1 and followed a suggestion on another thread about using a static ip. So far so good today. I will keep my fingers crossed that it lasts :)

2 iPhone 5's and 3 iPad minis with 8.02. Driving our household crazy. I reset network settings on all devices and we still have random dropouts of wifi. I have an extender for upstairs which worked with no problems until iOS 8. Now they either disconnect from the extender or don't recognize it at all. Between this and the screw ups with the ATV updates, Apple is really not impressed me lately. They keep on like this, I may look at other options for my future devices. Side note, they still haven't addressed homeshare problems with large itunes libraries. I can't open my music or movie library on any of my newer devices with iOS 7 or 8. However my first gen iPad running iOS 5 connects just fine. What the hell?

Had the issue on my iPad air but not my iPhone 5s or 6. Did a clean install on the iPad air and manually added back my data, and it seems to have fixed the issue.

No disrespect to you but the issues with wifi on the iPhone 6 have been discussed to death. It is not a network issue. Getting less than 1 Mbps on the iPhone when every other device is getting 30 times that is an iPhone issue. Constant disconnects and having to toggle wifi off and on to even see wifi access points is an iPhone 6 issue.

Madsci954 could you keep testing and tell me if this still works. It's the only thing I haven't tried yet. Test in the 5ghz band please.

I tried the static IP and it only worked for about 10 minutes.

I am also running an iPhone 6 so the question must be why am I not getting these problems?

It is happening here on a 6 plus, iPhone 5, and iPad Air. We had no issues prior to iOS 8 on the 5 and iPad Air. This is an iOS 8 issue in my opinion ;)

My AP is running in dual mode, and to clarify, the issue I had was the Internet speeds tanked, it stayed connected to wifi. Turning off wifi and rebooting temporarily fixed it, but I restored it about 24 hours ago and so far so good.

Ok. My issue was that once my iPad air switches to the 5ghz band on my dual band router, wifi either disconnects or data stops. So you are still having no problems after 24 hours. That's good.

Strange thing is if I change to my AirPort Extreme instead of my ISP router, it runs on channel 100 5ghz ok. But if I change it to any other channel, ipad has problems. Defo a software issue.

I don't understand how this happening to people.

I have nearly 100 iOS devices I'm responsible for, including my own, my families, and work devices.

Not a single one has any of these issues. Not on iOS 7, iOS 8 betas, iOS 8 release, or iOS 8.1 betas.

Maybe its just because I'm on Macrumors and the 12 people out of 750 million with such issues congregate here. I have to imagine this is the case.
