oh, hmm I'm not sure if you receive any kind of location code then. on verizon you're emailed a location code that gives a general idea of which warehouse your order is shipping out of.

Not really that I saw, but I did get a confirmation number which gives me confidence. :)
 
How do you track it without apple sending you the info???

On UPS's website they allow you to track by reference number. The reference in my case was the phone number associated with my itunes account which happens to be my house number. That happened to work for me but not everyone has been able to get it to work that way.
 
I'm still in preparing for shipment phase as well. My UPS reference started working this morning though and my support profile shows the phone now so I'm glad that shows up finally. Bet apple releases shipped notifications the morning of launch and immediately sends us delivery conformation lol.

Ordered from Apple. Still preparing for shipment and no tracking data while searching by reference number. Concerned.
 
For the peeps in UK - its perfectly fine if your order is still showing as 'prepared for shipment'. iPhone 5's are most probably sitting in some warehouse waiting for UPS/Fedex to collect and go out on a 'next day service'... meaning your status should change by tomorrow and you'll get your phone on Friday :D

I believe those who are already getting 'shipped' emails are those outside the UK and their phones are coming directly from China.
