If you are like me and like to watch videos while laying down in bed, then you want the mini. It is lighter to hold and fits better in your hands.

As for reading, I do a lot of reading in iBooks and Kindle and it is very easy to adjust the text size, if that is a concern. Also, FWIW, I have pretty average eyesight and using the mini for Safari, Twitter, FB doesn't strain my eyes at all.

I do quite a bit of lying in bed with my iPad. I think the mini will definitely be nicer for this.

I switched. I'm starting to really like my Mini 4 as I am forcing myself to type on it. It's nice to be able to hold it with one hand and type with the other rather comfortably during my commute. Reading is just fine too so far. That's been huge as other iPads have been pretty tough going reading-wise.

Sure there are some bugs in 9.1 (certain sites in Safari are unusable), but outside of this, I'm glad I hung in with it.

It's good to begin to get over that iPad is just a consumption device stigma I've had since I've been buying these in 2011. What a nice surprise. It's been pretty good as my iPhone replacement. I am looking forward to seeing how much more I can do with it once school starts in January.

So I just checked the two iPads out in the AS. Definitely going for the Mini 4. It is sooooo amazingly light and super easy to hold and type on. Just awesome. The split screen multitasking seems nice and useful as well. I was surprised at the difference in one hand use between my air and the air 2, but still it wasn't to the point where I could see myself comfortably holding it one handed for long periods of time like I do when I use my textbooks for homeschool.
I think the mini 4 will be great for me. And if I get it and use it for a few days and find that it actually doesn't fit my needs (which I doubt), I have the extended return period.

Well, in 2 days I'll be getting my mini 4. I'm super excited! Can't wait to have the smaller, lighter, more compact and comfortable form factor.

Nice.

I still haven't decided on keeping my iPad mini 4 or getting the iPad Air 2 instead.

had big desision, then i stood in the store chooseing between Air 2 vs Mini 4. took Air 2 because of the overall better screen. and processor power :)

I went from an iPad 3 to a Mini 2 because I was primarily using it for content consumption. The Mini form-factor is a lot more comfortable for reading, watching video in bed, etc... for me. I recently bought an iPad Pro for content creation and consumption, but kept my Mini as e-reader.

I've been lucky enough this year to swop my Air 2 for a Pro and my mini 3 for a mini 4. Perfect for me. I take the mini to the office with me and for reading and my Pro for using at home. Not missing my Air 2 yet....

What cases/sleeves do you guys recommend? I've just got this from Kavaj.

My favorite iPad accessory is the Smart Cover. I prefer to use the iPad without any case while actually using it, but when not in use I usually keep the smart cover on, I also use the stand function often with school. I got the midnight blue one which I think will look sweet with gold.

I'll probably go through the same thing. I'm hoping the mini 4 will work, and I really like the compact size based on when I used it in the store, so that is why I decided to get it. If it doesn't work I can return it and get an air 2, but doubting I'll do that at this point.

I went back and forth for a while. I loved the idea of the extreme portability of the mini, but realized that I use my iPad primarily in my home and really value the extra screen real estate, processing power, and ram. To me the iPad Air 2 is the perfect size between portability and power. Multitasking is great to use on it and I felt the screen of the mini was a bit too cramped. I am sure you would be happy with either one, but find the Air to be in that sweet spot.

If you still want an iPad mini 4, Best Buy has an Apple holiday sale where they have slashed $100 off on the price.
Sounds great for anyone who missed the BF sales. Save $100, or get double the storage for free. Either way it's an excellent deal, thanks for sharing. I'm just waiting for my bday to come tomorrow so I can get mine, last day with my iPad Air haha.

Well I got it this morning! My mini 4:

I love the weight of it, SO EASY to hold. A lot easier to type on too. Way more portable. When I pick up the air and use it now, it seems huge; now the decision time comes.....I have till next month to decide whether I will keep it, or get air 2. So far, the experience is quite enjoyable.

I got a mini 4 128LTE. Coming from the same spec iPad Air 2. I love the smaller tablet, especially outside the home. No regrets.

Is that a new Smart Cover or will the "old" mini sc work?
