I just tried both the pro and regular model ,and boy,is the pro heavy !

It’s also not well balanced ,prob due to the camera .

The regular model feels much nicer to hold and use . I planned to get the 15/16 pro,but if they don’t go titanium for the smaller model ,I don’t see myself going to such a heavy burden

Coming from 12 Pro to 14 Plus - the weight is almost the same !

14 Plus has the larger screen and SOS emergency feature which are the main reasons I got it.

Don't have any need for the Pro features.

I sold the 13 pro to get the 13 just for the weight, the difference is really noticeable.

But now I’m on the 14Pro and I’m really enjoying the 3 camera setup again; portrait at 2x is a pleasure.

I don’t think I would go back to the regular iPhone again, but I hope they reduce the Pro weight on next iphones.

It’s 240 gram, how can that be such a heavy burden? I really don’t understand this.

I don't either. My 13PM with Apple leather case is 273g and the weight doesn't even enter my mind when using it. Maybe it would at first if I was coming from a much lighter phone, but I'm sure one could get used to it after just a little time.

Just because everyone can lift that weight doesn't mean everyone wants to lift that weight.

Well, that's why he used the phrase "heavy burden"--in other words, he's saying how can that be something you wouldn't want to lift due to it being burdensome in some way. He's not saying take a deep breath and put your back into it--you got this! LOL!

This is truly a whatever works for each individual. I’m weight conscious with phones and was concerned when I purchased the 13 Pro last year that it would be to heavy. I never felt that way because of how premium and balanced the phone felt in hand. Then I just got the 14 PM and had the same concern. Once again, it isn’t. To me the phone is so well balanced it just feels great.

I’m considering the pro over the pro max due to the weight, since they’re equal in features otherwise. But the 14 and 14 pro have diverged enough that I don’t think compromising with the 14 solely based on weight is a good enough reason.

I’m a fan of the standard line up usually but the regular 14 is difficult to justify vs the pro model or the regular 13. The extra ram is nice but that’s about it.

The max’s battery is VASTLY superior

It’s only a couple of gram difference, not even noticeable and you get so much more with the pro

with the 14 Pro, I was able to hold it comfortably in one hand while sitting on the toilet. My thumb could reach around 80% of the screen.

I also got a Canadian 14 Pro Max because of the physical SIM card slot. I could not use it with just one hand on the toilet.

The 14 Pro was returned. (don't worry, I cleaned it vigoursly with multiple disinfecting wipes before packing it)

Hopefully there aren't that many babies using Macrumors.

After four years between the 7+ and 8+ I was wanting a lighter phone, so I moved to the standard 12 for a while.

I really missed the telephoto camera, however. Took maybe 25% of the pictures I used to. So I grumbled and moved back to the Pro line with the 14.

If I could get a telephoto instead of the UW on the standard model, I’d stay with it.

Yes! I managed to handle the 14 series, and boy the 14 Pro felt quite heavy for my taste. It's a shame really. Apple went from under 200g from the Xs (177g) and 11 Pro (188g), which both are stainless steel, to over 200g overnight from the 12 Pro onwards.

I handled the 14 Plus, and it's better in a sense that the weight is distributed on a larger surface area. But it confirms my preference that I am not comfortable with phones that are more than 200g in weight. My option for iphones literally becomes just the regular iphone and mini...

I went with the Plus because it's lighter (15% lighter) and I'm not a fan of the "dynamic island". The weight difference is very noticeable to me. I owned the 12 Pro Max and hated how heavy it was.

I'm really nitpicking here but I wish Apple would release a 6.3 or 6.4" phone. That would be my sweet spot.
